Changes in modern society's food choices, physical inactivity, and obesity are significant factors in the development of type 2 DM (T2DM). The association between changes in intestinal flora and numerous disorders, including obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, has been studied in recent years.

Background/aims: Pancreatic steatosis (PS) is a subject of current interest and its prevalence has been reported to range from 16.1% to 30.7% using various radiological methods.

The Greulich-Pyle and Gilsanz-Ratib atlas method versus automated estimation tool for bone age: a multi-observer agreement study.

Purpose: To evaluate the agreement between observers using Greulich-Pyle (GP) and Gilsanz-Ratib (GR) methods, between four specialities (radiology, pediatrics, pediatric endocrinology and pediatric radiology) and between observers and automated tool in the bone age estimation.

Materials And Methods: A total of 99 observers participated in this questionnaire-based study. BoneXpert was used for the automated tool.

Isolated pineal gland metastasis of acute lymphocytic leukemia: case report.

Metastasis in the pineal region is a rare condition. To best of our knowledge, there is no case report of isolated pineal metastasis secondary to acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL). The aim of this study is to show the pineal gland involvement of ALL in a case for the first time in the literature.

[In-vitro Activity of Ceftolozane-Tazobactam in Combination with Various Antibiotics Against Multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii Isolated from Intensive Care Patients].

Acinetobacter species lead to nosocomial infections in immunocompromised patients hospitalized in intensive care units or services. Acinetobacter baumannii is a bacterium that is difficult to treat because it is intrinsically resistant to many antibiotics and can develop resistance afterwards. This situation limits the use of existing antibiotics and directs the clinician to new agents, different treatment options and the use of various antibiotic combinations.

[Comparison of Tuberculin Skin Test (TST) and T-SPOT.TB Tests for Diagnosis of Latent Tuberculosis Infection (LTBI) in HIV-infected Patients].

Tuberculosis (TB) is the most common opportunistic infection in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected patients. Diagnosis and treatment of latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) is the most important step in preventing the development of active TB. In our country where TB is moderately endemic, HIV-infected patients should be investigated for LTBI.

Investigation of the Relationship between Fatty Pancreas and Cholecystectomy Using Noncontrast Computed Tomography.

Introduction: Fatty pancreas, which can be evaluated with radiological methods, is a frequently overlooked finding. The aim of this study was to use noncontrast computed tomography (CT) to evaluate whether there was a relationship between fatty pancreas and cholecystectomy, similar to the relationship between fatty liver and cholecystectomy, which has been previously shown in literature.

Methods: The study included 46 cases who underwent cholecystectomy and 74 age- and gender-matched control subjects.

Type 3 takayasu arteritis diagnosed by parvus-tardus renal Doppler signal modulation.

Takayasu's arteritis is known to cover the youngest age group in the etiology of secondary hypertension. The type 3 pattern is rare and involves the thoraco-abdominal aorta and its main abdominal branches. Here, we present the imaging results of a patient who had been followed up for systemic arterial hypertension and was diagnosed with Takayasu's arteritis type 3 by CT and MR angiography following bilateral detection of a parvus-tardus Doppler signal modulation in the renal arteries.
