Background: Sexual abuse is associated with severe health consequences, and the European Union has, through the Istanbul Convention, urged its member countries to provide specialist care for victims of sexual abuse.

Methods: This is a descriptive study where journal data from 100 consecutive patients January 2017 to February 2018 were analyzed.

Adolescents' Experiences of Staying Overnight at Family-Centered Pediatric Wards.

Background: Sleep is essential for health and recovery. Hospital stays may affect adolescents' sleep quality negatively as routines in the ward are not adapted for adolescents' developmental status or sleep habits. The aims with this study were to (a) explore and describe how adolescents experience sleep in the family-centered pediatric ward, (b) explore and describe how adolescents experience the presence or absence of a parent during the hospital stay, and (c) identify circumstances that the adolescents describe as influential of their sleep in the pediatric wards.

: This protocol outlines research to explore family members' and paid staff's perceptions of the impact of COVID-19 on individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their caregivers. Evidence suggests that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities experience disparities in healthcare access and utilisation. This disparity was evident early in the pandemic when discussions arose regarding the potential exclusion of this population to critical care.

"All of Me Is Completely Different": Experiences and Consequences Among Victims of Technology-Assisted Child Sexual Abuse.

The aim of the present study was to gain a first-person perspective on the experiences of technology-assisted child sexual abuse (TA-CSA), and a deeper understanding of the way it may affect its victims. Seven young women (aged 17-24) with experience of TA-CSA before the age of 18 participated in individual in-depth interviews. The interviews were teller-focused with the aim of capturing the interviewee's own story about how they made sense of their experiences over time, and what impact the victimization had on them in the short and long terms.

Antipsychotics are drugs that interact primarily with the dopamine receptors and are thus important for the control of psychosis and related disorders.

Translation, Cross-Cultural Adaptation, and Psychometric Analysis of the Attitudes Towards Homelessness Inventory for Use in Sweden.

Background: Homelessness is an increasing problem worldwide, and the origins of homelessness in high-income countries are multifaceted. Due to stigma and discrimination, persons in homelessness delay seeking health care, resulting in avoidable illness and death. The Attitudes Towards Homelessness Inventory (ATHI) was developed to cover multiple dimensions of attitudes toward persons in homelessness and to detect changes in multiple segments of populations.

Outcomes of the grief and communication family support intervention on parent and child psychological health and communication.

Parents and children risk developing psychological health problems following the death of a partner/parent and may need professional support. This study used the reliable change criterion and clinically significant change to examine the outcomes of the Grief and Communication Family Support Intervention, comprising three family meetings with a family therapist, among 10 parents and 14 children, using pre-post outcome scores. The results provided preliminary evidence that the Grief and Communication Family Support Intervention may improve self-esteem and reduce anxiety in some parents and may improve communication and reduce internalizing and externalizing problems in some children.

Belonging to a community of care: Mothers' experiences of online peer support groups for parents having lost a child with congenital heart defects.

The aim was to study mothers' experiences of online peer support groups after the death of a child. Participants ( = 8) were recruited through a newsletter for the Swedish association for families/children with heart defects, and two closed support groups on Facebook (900 and 100 members) and interviewed by telephone. Transcripts were analyzed with qualitative content analysis.

The effectiveness of smartphone compassion training on stress among Swedish university students: A pilot randomized trial.

Objective: To investigate the effects of a 6-week smartphone compassion training intervention on mental health.

Method: Fifty-seven Swedish university students (mean age = 25, SD = 5) reporting high levels of stress were randomized to compassion training (n = 23), mindfulness (n = 19), or waitlist (n = 15).

Result: Multilevel models indicated that both compassion and mindfulness training increased self-compassion compared to the waitlist, while only compassion significantly reduced stress.

Objectives: The loss of a child is a devastating event, and bereaved parents often suffer intense and long-lasting grief reactions and are at risk for psychological symptoms. More knowledge about how parents cope with grief may improve the support to bereaved parents. Application of Rasch Analysis for Development and Psychometric Properties of Adolescents' Quality of Life Instruments: A Systematic Review.

Background: Due to the importance of assessing quality of life (QoL) in healthy and ill adolescents, the evaluation of psychometric properties of these questionnaires is important.

Objective: To investigate the application of Rasch analysis in psychometric assessment studies on adolescents' QoL instruments, and to evaluate the quality of reporting Rasch parameters in these studies.

Methods: This systematic review was conducted by searching for papers in electronic databases PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE, Cochrane Library and Scopus until December 2018.

Psychometric properties of the Child and Adolescent Trauma Screen (CATS) in a sample of Swedish children.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the psychometrics of the Swedish version of the Child and Adolescent Trauma Screen (CATS). This was to obtain access to an international instrument to identify symptoms of post-traumatic stress in children and adolescents according to the new Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders, 5th edition (DSM-5).

Method: A total of 591 young Swedish schoolchildren aged 13-17 years old were given the CATS together with the Trauma Symptom Checklist for Children (TSCC), and the Linköping Youth Life Experience Scale (LYLES-Y).

Views on everyday life among adults with spina bifida: an exploration through photovoice.

The aim of this study was to actively integrate expertise of persons living with spina bifida, to explore conditions embedded in their everyday life. This was important because young adults with spina bifida risk not being able to fully participate in the community on equal terms and in accordance with their own preferences. Photovoice, a community-based participatory research approach, was utilized to engage participants through dialogue and photography.

Facing life-prolonging treatment: The perspectives of men with advanced metastatic prostate cancer - An interview study.

Purpose: Several life-prolonging treatment options have recently become available for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. However, research regarding patient experiences while undergoing these treatments is scarce. The aim was to explore the perspectives of men when facing life-prolonging treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer.

Family caregivers' support needs during allo-HSCT-a longitudinal study.

Purpose: The study aimed to explore family caregivers' support needs prior to allo-HSCT, how these change over time and whether they are associated with demographic factors and caregiver outcome.

Methods: This longitudinal repeated measure study included 87 family caregivers of allo-HSCT recipients: 63% were partners, 74% women, 65% lived with the recipient, and their mean age was 54 years. They completed the 14-item Carer Support Needs Assessment Tool (CSNAT) and caregiver outcome measures (caregiver burden, anxiety, depression, preparedness for caregiving and general health) prior to allo-HSCT and 3, 6 and 16 weeks later.

Exploring the relationship between sexual function, sense of coherence, and well-being in a sample of Iranian breast cancer survivors.

Purpose: This study was aimed at exploring the type and role of relationships between sexual function, sense of coherence (SOC), and well-being in a sample of Iranian breast cancer survivors.

Methods: In this cross-sectional study with correlational design, data were collected from 181 survivors by consecutive sampling. They answered demographic and clinical information sheet, the SOC scale, the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI), and the Health Index (HI).

The 6S-model for person-centred palliative care: A theoretical framework.

Palliative care is provided at a certain timepoint, both in a person's life and in a societal context. What is considered to be a good death can therefore vary over time depending on prevailing social values and norms, and the person's own view and interpretation of life. This means that there are many interpretations of what a good death can actually mean for an individual.

A One-Session Treatment of PTSD After Single Sexual Assault Trauma. A Pilot Study of the WONSA MLI Project: A Randomized Controlled Trial.

Sexual abuse is a crime with devastating health consequences. Accessible, acceptable and affordable treatment of PTSD after sexual abuse is important. In this pilot study, a one-session PTSD treatment and a modified perspective to PTSD treatment is introduced.

Preferences regarding antibiotic treatment and the role of antibiotic resistance: A discrete choice experiment.

Objectives: To identify preferences of the Swedish public regarding antibiotic treatment characteristics and the relative weight of antibiotic resistance in their treatment choices.

Methods: A questionnaire including a discrete choice experiment questionnaire was answered by 378 Swedish participants. Preferences of the general public regarding five treatment characteristics (attributes) were measured: contribution to antibiotic resistance, cost, side effects, failure rate and treatment duration.
