Objective: We conducted a biochemical and histological evaluation of whether berberine has a protective and/or therapeutic effect in a cyclophosphamide-induced premature ovarian failure (POF) model.

Materials And Methods: We divided 28 Wistar albino female rats into 4 groups [control group, POF group, cyclophosphamide (CP)+berberine (Bb) group, and POF+Bb group]. The POF model was established by intraperitoneal administration of 50 mg/kg CP on day 1 followed by 8 mg/kg/day CP dissolved in saline for the following 14 days.

Introduction This study highlights the significance of assessing acid-base balance and gas exchange in intensive care patients. The research investigates the applicability of using the "expected (pCO = HCO + 15)" formula, derived from venous blood gas samples, as an alternative to Winter's formula and practical formula. The study emphasizes the importance of identifying the primary acid-base abnormality accurately and efficiently for appropriate clinical intervention in critically ill patients.

Background: Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction is a complex and heterogeneous clinical syndrome, poses significant diagnostic challenges. The HFA-PEFF [Heart Failure Association of ESC diagnostic algorithm, P (Pretest Assessment), E  (Echocardiographic and Natriuretic Peptide score), F1 (Functional testing in Case of Uncertainty), F2 (Final Aetiology)] and H2FPEF [Heavy (BMI>30 kg/m2), Hypertensive (use of ≥2 antihypertensive medications), atrial Fibrillation (paroxysmal or persistent), Pulmonary hypertension (Doppler Echocardiographic estimated Pulmonary Artery Systolic Pressure >35 mm Hg), Elderly (age >60 years), Filling pressure (Doppler Echocardiographic E/e' >9)] scoring systems were developed to aid in diagnosing heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. This study aimed to assess the concordance and clinical accuracy of these scoring systems in the 'A comPrehensive, ObservationaL registry of heart faiLure with mildly reduced and preserved ejection fractiON' cohort.

Background: Stigmatization is a situation that results from the negative perspective of society toward individuals with certain mental and physical illnesses and has negative effects. It has been observed that there are not enough studies in the literature investigating the attitudes of individuals with mental illness to cope with lifelong difficulties such as stigma and especially their religious coping attitudes. However, there are many clinical studies on general psychology and religious coping with varying results.

Self stigmatization, which occurs as a result of internalization of public stigma in severe mental illnesses, is a factor that impairs the mental well-being of individuals and their compliance with treatment. Data on exactly which factors are associated with internalized stigma are still insufficient. Our aim in this clinical study is to investigate the relationship between internalized stigma and religious coping in patients with schizophrenia.

Objective: We planned to reveal the relationship between OPG (osteoprotegerin) level and right heart function in hypertensive patients with normal ejection fraction, using strain analysis, which is a sensitive method in demonstrating subclinical dysfunction.

Methods: Between February and June 2018, 625 consecutive patients with a diagnosis of hypertension who applied to the cardiology out-patient clinic of our hospital were evaluated for our study and 175 eligible patients were included. The patients were divided into two groups according to their OPG level.

Background: This study aimed to compare objective refractive errors and keratometry measurements obtained using the Nidek OPD-Scan II aberrometer/topographer and Topcon KR 8900 autorefractokeratometer.

Methods: The right eye medical records of 176 patients aged 18-35 years who were admitted to our clinic as refractive surgery candidates were tested for refractive status and keratometry measurements with a Nidek OPD-Scan II aberrometer/topographer and a standard table-top autorefractokeratometer (Topcon KR 8900) before and after the induction of cycloplegia. Patients who had undergone any eye surgery and had hereditary, ectatic, or acquired corneal pathology were excluded.
