This descriptive qualitative study aimed to explore nurses' approaches to various people. The study collected data via semi-structured interviews and contacted 40 nurses through snowball sampling.

A Cross-Sectional Survey Study on Homophobia Among Medical, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Other Health Sciences Students.

Since the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) community may be exposed to violence, discrimination, stigma, exclusion, and maltreatment due to their sexual orientation while accessing healthcare services, understanding, and improving the attitudes of future's health care professionals toward LGBTI individuals seem essential. This descriptive and cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the homophobia among medical, nursing, pharmacy, and healthcare sciences students and examine the related factors. The study included 2,531 students from medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and other health sciences (midwifery, nutrition and dietetics, physiotherapy, management of healthcare facilities) disciplines.

The Effect of a Gluten-Free Diet on Sleep Disturbances in Children with Celiac Disease.

Purpose: Sleep disturbances are common in patients with celiac disease (CD), but their response to a gluten-free diet (GFD) treatment remains scarce. This study investigated the alteration in sleep disturbances within 6 months of starting a GFD in children with CD.

Patients And Methods: A total of 103 children initially diagnosed with CD, with no psychiatric diagnosis and not receiving psychotropic medication, were included in this study.

Cosmetic aspects of the disease are likely to affect the quality of life (QoL) and physiological well-being in these individuals. Metreleptin, recombinant human leptin, replacement treatment has been shown to have benefits in treating the metabolic abnormalities of CGL.

Objectives: Malnutrition is frequently observed in patients with acute stroke and its prevalence after stroke varies widely among published reports. Differences in the timing of assessment, stroke type, comorbid medical conditions, and stroke complications may have contributed to this large variability. This study is conducted to investigate the prevalence of malnutrition, and its associated risk factors in stroke patients admitted to our stroke clinic.

Background: The determination of the protective and risk factors associated with Internet gaming disorder (IGD) is among the most important pathways to the development of prevention strategies for IGD. Previous research has shown that familial factors are associated with IGD. In our study, we aimed to assess the parental attitude of adolescents with IGD and investigate psychiatric comorbidity.

Marchiafava-Bignami disease: Report of three cases.

Marchiafava-Bignami disease (MBD) is a rare alcohol-associated disorder characterized by demyelination and necrosis of the corpus callosum. We report three patients who had history of chronic alcoholism, different clinical presentation and MRI findings consistent with the diagnosis of Marchiafava-Bignami disease.

Mobbing at Workplace -Psychological Trauma and Documentation of Psychiatric Symptoms.

Objectives: Mobbing at the workplace refers to such cases as verbal harassment, aggressive words, sarcasm, slander or social isolation repeatedly targeted at a specific person at a specific period of time. Previous studies indicate that wellness and health of the victims who have been subjected to mobbing at workplace were affected adversely. Recently, there has been an increase in mobbing cases in Turkey.

Methods: In total, 200 prison inmates were included in this questionnaire-based study. Data on demographic characteristics, adverse family experiences during childhood and psychiatric backgrounds were collected via face-to-face interviews, and a psychometric evaluation was conducted using the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ-28) and Dissociative Experiences Scale (DES).

From Poster Presentation to Publication: National Congress of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Introduction: The aims of this study were as follows: 1) to determine publication rate, time to publication, and study design of poster presentations accepted at the National Congress of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (NCCAP) and converted to publication and the degree of first author in a published article and journal index and 2) to investigate the relationship of these data with each other.

Methods: The poster presentations of four congresses organized between 2005 and 2008 were investigated separately. The presentations were screened by taking into account the title and the first and second author in English and Turkish languages via PubMed and Google Academic databases.
