Pathway from Earthquake Fear to Post-Traumatic Growth: The Roles of Resilience, Self-Efficacy, and Positive Childhood Memories Among Survivors of the 2023 Türkiye Earthquakes.

Posttraumatic growth is essential for understanding how individuals process trauma and adapt psychologically in the aftermath of seismic events. This study aims to explore the mediating effects of resilience, self-efficacy, and positive childhood memories on the relationship between fear of earthquakes and post-traumatic growth among survivors of the 2023 Türkiye earthquake (N = 423). The results of a multi-mediation analysis indicated that earthquake fear indirectly influenced post-traumatic growth through resilience, self-efficacy, and positive childhood memories.

Synthesis and Characterization of Schiff Bases and Their Ag(I) Complexes Containing 2,5,6-Trisubstituted Imidazothiadiazole Derivatives: Molecular Docking and In Vitro Cytotoxic Effects Against Nonsmall Lung Cancer Cell Line.

In this study, four novels 2,5,6-trisubstituted imidazothiadiazole derivative ligands and their Ag(I) complexes were synthesized and characterized using various spectroscopic analysis techniques. First, imidazo[2,1-b][1,3,4]thiadiazole derivative (3) was obtained from the reaction of 5-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-thiol with benzyl bromide in the presence of KOH in an ethanolic medium. In the next step, the resultant compound reacted sequentially with four substituted phenacyl bromide derivatives (4a-4d) under refluxed ethanol for 24 h to obtain substituted 2-(benzylthio)-6-phenylimidazo[2,1-b][1,3,4]thiadiazole derivatives (5-8).

vNOTES as a salvage method for adnexectomy and high uterosacral ligament suspension after vaginal hysterectomy under epidural anesthesia: A feasibility and safety study.

Objective: To evaluate the feasibility and safety of transvaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (vNOTES) for performing adnexectomy and high uterosacral ligament suspension (HUSLS) after vaginal hysterectomy (VH) under epidural anesthesia.

Method: This was a retrospective case series of 42 women who underwent VH for stage II or greater apical prolapse according to pelvic organ prolapse quantification (POP-Q); however, adnexectomy could not performed and replace the vNOTES technique. The procedure continued with vNOTES adnexectomy and bilateral HUSLS under epidural anesthesia.

The Effect of Hope Level and Self-Concept on Peer Victimization Among Adolescents in Rural Areas of Turkey: A Path Analysis.

Problem: Early adolescence (10-14 years) is a critical period in which peer victimization (PV) is common. In protecting, maintaining, and improving the health of adolescents, it is important to detect PV and evaluate its relationship with the level of hope and self-concept. This study aimed to determine the PV situation of adolescents living in rural areas and establish the effect of the level of hope and self-concept on this situation.

Objective: Language disorder, a prevalent developmental disorder, impedes children's communication skills, with genetic and environmental factors playing pivotal roles in its pathomechanism. This study aims to investigate the involvement of sequence variations in and genes, along with environmental variables, in language disorder's etiology.

Methods: Between September 2022 and March 2023, thirty children aged 2-7 diagnosed with language disorders according to DSM-5 criteria, and evaluated using the Ankara Developmental Screening Inventory, were studied to identify genetic and environmental factors contributing to etiology.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of different concentrations of syringic acid (SA1, 10 μM; SA2, 250 μM; SA3, 500 μM) on growth, photosynthetic parameters, and antioxidant activity in lettuce seedlings subjected to arsenic stress (As, 100 μM).

Cancer in children and adolescents is one of the most serious health problems worldwide. There is a subgroup of children with cancer at increased risk for anxiety and depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

This study aimed to create a risk prediction model with artificial intelligence (AI) to identify patients at higher risk of postpartum hemorrhage using perinatal characteristics that may be associated with later postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) in twin pregnancies that underwent cesarean section. The study was planned as a retrospective cohort study at University Hospital. All twin cesarean deliveries were categorized into two groups: those with and without PPH.

Introduction: Spondyloepimetaphyseal dysplasia with joint laxity type 1 (SEMD-JL1) is an extremely rare skeletal dysplasia belonging to a group of disorders called linkeropathies. It is characterized by skeletal and connective tissue abnormalities. Biallelic variants in genes encoding enzymes that synthesize the tetrasaccharide linker region of glycosaminoglycans lead to linkeropathies, which exhibit clinical and phenotypic features that overlap with each other.

By applying a multiomics approach to a large group of -mutated patients, we aimed at characterizing the immunopathology associated with each phenotype. Although defective T and B cell development is common to all phenotypes, patients with hypomorphic variants can generate T and B cells with signatures of immune dysregulation and produce autoantibodies to a broad range of self-antigens, including type I interferons.

Periaortic fat thickness and cardiovascular risk factors in children with congenital adrenal hyperplasia.

Objective: Children with congenital adrenal hyperplasia are considered to be at an elevated risk for cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. The objective of this study was to evaluate the association between periaortic fat thickness and the cardiometabolic profile in children diagnosed with congenital adrenal hyperplasia.

Method: A total of 20 children and adolescents with congenital adrenal hyperplasia and 20 healthy control subjects were enrolled in the study.

Towards a long-term stable MAPbBr single crystal-based photoconductor with a high on/off ratio and detectivity.

Photodetectors based on lead halide perovskites often show excellent performance but poor stability. Herein, we demonstrate a photodetector based on MAPbBr single crystals passivated with an ultrathin layer of PbSO, which shows superior detectivity and on/off ratios compared to the control device due to the combined effect of lower surface traps, reduced recombination and low dark current. In addition, the device retained ∼56% of its initial * with an impressive on/off ratio of ∼801 after one year compared to ∼22% of * and an on/off ratio of ∼6 of the control device.

Monitoring the Response of Treatment in Major Depressive Disorder with EEG: Could it be an Indicator of Returning to Health in Responders.

Quantitative electroencephalography (qEEG) data can facilitate the monitoring of treatment progress and the evaluation of therapeutic responses in patients with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). This study aims to compare the qEEG data of MDD patients and healthy controls, both before and after treatment, to assess the effect of treatment response on neural activity. A total of 72 patients, aged 18-60, who had not used any psychopharmacological medication for at least two weeks, were included in the study.

Cationic Micelle-like Nanoparticles as the Carrier of Methotrexate for Glioblastoma Treatment.

In the present study, ultra-small, magnetic, oleyl amine-coated FeO nanoparticles were synthesized and stabilized with a cationic ligand, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, and an anticancer drug, methotrexate, was incorporated into a micelle-like nanoparticle structure for glioblastoma treatment. Nanoparticles were further characterized for their physicochemical properties using spectroscopic methods. Drug incorporation efficiency, drug loading, and drug release profile of the nanoparticles were investigated.
