While Hepatitis A Virus (HAV) vaccination in global immunization programs has shown a virtual elimination of the disease within few years of the vaccination program, changing epidemiological landscape in India underscores the need for evidence-based, updated guidance on immunization practices. In May 2024, a panel of 15 distinguished opinion leaders and an organizing committee convened for an intensive, face-to-face advisory board meeting on high burden of HAV infection among adults, increased mortality rate in adolescents, symptomatic presentation in children, and evolving landscape globally and within India. Extensive comparable deliberations on long-term follow-up data from India and data from country of origin advocated immunogenicity, tolerability, and long-term protective effects of single-dose live attenuated HAV vaccine in children.

Background: Curcumin (Cur) is a polyphenol phyto-compound found in turmeric () that inhibits tumorigenesis by introducing apoptosis and restricting cell survival and proliferation. This in vitro research article focuses on the pharmacodynamic interactions of Cur combined with the commercial drug doxorubicin (Doxo) to enhance the cytotoxicity of Doxo at lower doses against triple-negative breast cancer cells (MDA-MB-231) with the chemo-protective effect against normal HEK293 cells. In this study, we observed the dose-dependent cytotoxicity, increased reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, and increased chromatin condensation in combination doses compared to single doses.

Background: Hypertension is a leading cause of premature mortality and morbidity. Recent guidelines advocate for out-of-office blood pressure monitoring, including ambulatory and home BP monitoring, to better identify hypertension phenotypes like masked hypertension, white coat hypertension, and sustained hypertension. However, clinical inertia persists due to a lack of robust evidence on the effectiveness of screening these phenotypes and their association with cardiovascular and all-cause mortality.

Scrub typhus continues to pose a significant threat to life, manifesting in a spectrum that ranges from mild, non-specific febrile illness to severe multi-organ dysfunction. Although neuropsychiatric symptoms are rare in cases of scrub typhus, we present a unique case involving a 60-year-old male who initially exhibited fever and headache, subsequently developing neuropsychiatric symptoms on the third day of hospitalization. Following the exclusion of prevalent metabolic, autoimmune, and infectious conditions, he was diagnosed with hypoactive delirium associated with scrub typhus.
