This is a case report of a one-year-and-nine-month-old girl with multiple guttate psoriasis skin lesions, non-traumatic knee arthritis, and no family history of autoimmune diseases. Laboratory tests revealed no suggestive markers of juvenile psoriatic arthritis (JPsA), while the dermatological examination described scaly erythematous lesions with a positive Auspitz sign. The diagnosis was confirmed by a skin biopsy and histopathological examination.

Assisted reproductive technology (ART) nowadays plays a major role in the treatment of infertility, with the most frequently used techniques being in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). The objective of this study is to analyze pregnancies achieved using these ART techniques and their correlations with the prematurity and congenital malformations rates. This is an observational retrospective longitudinal study that includes 814 newborns conceived through an ART, namely IVF or ICSI.

This study presents a retrospective analysis of 26 autopsy cases from a single centre, primarily focusing on forensic cases, with a majority of male individuals. We systematically analysed autopsy reports and cardiac tissue slides using haematoxylin-eosin stain and immunohistochemistry for CD3, CD163, and IL-6. The histological assessment evaluated key variables such as inflammation severity, necrosis, and background changes using a standardised grading system.

Children are more sensitive to ionizing radiation than adults. Even though the risk is very low, exposure from radiological examinations can possibly cause them long-term side effects. Recent large epidemiological studies involving children and young adults have added evidence suggesting that even small doses of radiation, such as those from computed tomography scans, might slightly increase the risk of developing cancer later in life.

Background: Neutrophilic myocarditis often stems from bacterial or fungal infections, and it is typically detectable through blood cultures or analyses of the primary infection site. However, research specifically addressing the morphological features of acute myocarditis in complex sepsis cases is scarce, with existing studies primarily dating back to the pre-antibiotic era.
Methods: This study constitutes a retrospective and descriptive analysis encompassing 22 forensic cases.

(1) Background: Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is a rare skeletal dysplasia characterized as a heterogeneous disorder group with well-defined phenotypic and genetic features that share uncommon bone fragility. The current treatment options, medical and orthopedic, are limited and not efficient enough to improve the low bone density, bone fragility, growth, and mobility of the affected individuals, creating the need for alternative therapeutic agents. (2) Methods: We searched the medical database to find papers regarding treatments for OI other than conventional ones.

The Covid-19 pandemic has made a strong mark on the education system globally. Universities have been compelled to take urgent measures to provide young people with access to education, leading them to invest significant resources in building their own e-learning platforms. Because they were created and implemented in a relatively short time, certain e-learning platforms presented several issues, underscoring the need for improvement.

The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly affected lithiasis patients, which has led to an increase in the number of internal stents that have been installed. In this paper, two studies were carried out, a clinical study and a quantitative study. The aim of the first study was to evaluate the incidence and the prevalence of bacterial urinary colonization in patients with obstructive urolithiasis who needed internal stents implanted.

Background: Slipped capital femoral epiphysis is due to proximal femur physis failure in adolescent patients. Early iatrogenic closure of proximal growth cartilage in children with significant residual growth potential causes complications such as coxa breva, coxa vara, and lower limb length inequalities. The Free-Gliding SCFE Screw System is a self-extending cannulated screw used in Slipped Capital Femoral Epiphysis (SCFE) fixation and femoral neck fractures.

Introduction: Femoral shaft fractures in pediatric patients are treated by elastic intramedullary nailing using titanium or stainless-steel nails. The elastic stable intramedullary nailing behaves as an internal splint, promoting early mobilization. This type of treatment involves a minimally invasive approach, no damage to the growth plates, and no impairment of femoral head blood supply.

Objective: Acute hematogenous osteomyelitis (AHO) has declining incidence in developed countries. AHO can cause rapid destruction of bone that can lead to functional impairment or even death if misdiagnosed and not treated urgently. In this study, we aimed to identify the main factors that may lead to a poor outcome and to establish a profile of patients with AHO who might have a negative outcome.

Background: Nursemaid's elbow (NE) represents the most common pathology met in the pediatric orthopedics ambulatory. There are two techniques of reducing the NE: the supination-flexion technique and the hyperpronation or forced pronation technique.
Materials And Methods: In this randomized clinical study, we aim to compare the two reduction techniques of the NE, by measuring the effectiveness of each and scaling the pain felt by the child, by using the Faces Pain Scale.

Open fractures of the leg with large loss of tissue require extensive reconstructive methods that can injure the donor area. The use of negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) may minimise the impact of these reconstructive methods because of its capacity to create granulation tissue that will form a wound bed for the skin graft, thus reducing the volume of soft tissue defect and saving the donor region. This case study describes the effectiveness of NPWT in the treatment and reconstruction of an open fracture of the leg, with massive loss of soft tissue, associated with elastic intramedullary nailing in a 10-year-old female patient, who was a victim of a car accident.

Introduction: Aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC) is a benign intraosseous lesion filled with blood that can determine a blowout distension of the bone. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of sclerotherapy by percutaneous intralesional administration of ethanol 96% for the treatment of this pathology in paediatric patients.
Method: The retrospective study includes 17 paediatric patients with ABC who were treated by repeated intracystic injection with ethanol 96%, 1 ml/kg, in our clinic between December 2015 and July 2017.

Objective This study aimed to assess the principal risk factors that could lead to the most common long-term complications of slipped capital femoral epiphysis, such as avascular necrosis, chondrolysis, and hip impingement. Methods We conducted a single-centre, retrospective study and evaluated patients (70 patients, 81 hips) who were treated for slipped capital femoral epiphysis from 2010 to 2015 and who underwent pinning. We measured the severity of displacement radiologically using the Southwick angle.

We report development of an aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC) that was located in the proximal region of the femur in an 11-year-old girl. Over a period of 30 weeks, the ABC showed fulminant local progression, with destruction of the bone, which led to an abrupt loss of function of the left hip. The standard tumour treatment protocol was followed.

Hand burns in children are frequent, severe, and require adequate treatment. A fundamental, though problematic aspect of this treatment is the assessment of the burn depth as this determines the surgical strategy. From a retrospective study of 369 hand burns admitted to our clinic, we were able to identify some patterns.
