This paper highlights a clinical case of sepsis caused by soft tissue infection. Peripheral blood smear, plasma value of inflammatory biomarkers and the white blood cells count were performed. Significant morphological changes were revealed through peripheral blood smear test two days after patient admission.

In this paper, we present the case of a 68-year-old male with personal medical history of coagulopathy issues, who presented to our Emergency Room (Emergency County Hospital, Arad, Romania) with bleeding of the superior tract of the digestive system; the case was difficult to manage, thus warranting the intervention of the Department of Gastroenterology. Endoscopy was performed to localize the site of bleeding and to stop the hemorrhage. This procedure was not successful.

Epithelial ovarian carcinoma makes up 90-95% of all ovarian malignancies, taking into account also low-malignant-potential tumors. The Krukenberg tumor is a rare metastatic adenocarcinoma (ADK) in the ovary, representing 1-2% of ovarian tumors. Multiple primary malignant neoplasms may exist when more than one cancerous tumor is diagnosed in the same or a different organ.

Assessment of angiogenesis in soft-tissue tumors.

The aims of our paper were to establish the main morphological and immunohistochemical aspects of tumor vessels, to quantify angiogenesis in soft-tissue tumors and to study the possible relationship between mast cells and angiogenesis. For this purpose, we immunohistochemically investigated 54 cases of benign and malignant tumors for smooth muscle actin and endothelial markers CD34 and CD31. It is presented a simple method to demonstrate simultaneously blood vessels and mast cells in the same section, using anti-CD34 and alcian blue-safranin.
