Diminished Ovarian Reserve Predisposes to Premature Luteinizing Hormone Surges in Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone Antagonist Cycles in Fertilization.

Context/background: A premature luteinizing hormone (LH) surge, in fertilization (IVF) cycles with gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH)-antagonist downregulation, leads to cycle cancellation. Currently, risk factors for the development of premature LH surge remain unknown.

Objective: The aim of the study was to determine the incidence and identify the contributing factors for premature LH surge in IVF cycles with GnRH antagonist suppression.

Hyperemesis gravidarum is persistent vomiting, seen more often in the first trimester of pregnancy, when the patient is unable to maintain adequate hydration. Intractable vomiting can lead to severe electrolyte imbalance, which may cause electrocardiogram abnormalities. Occasionally, ventricular tachycardia can complicate a pregnancy.

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection with Assisted Oocyte Activation Resulting in Successful Pregnancies and Live Birth in Couples with Globozoospermia: A Report of Two Cases.

Globozoospermia, characterized by round-headed acrosomeless sperm, is a rare and severe form of teratozoospermia. We report a successful pregnancy in two cases of total globozoospermia after intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) with oocyte activation with calcium ionophore. In thefirst case, globozoospermia was diagnosed on the day of oocyte retrieval.
