Introduction: Despite the proven benefits of inhaled corticosteroid (ICS)-containing triple therapy for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), clinicians limit patient exposure to ICS due to the risk of pneumonia. However, there are multiple factors associated with the risk of pneumonia in patients with COPD. This post hoc analysis of IMPACT trial data aims to set the risks associated with ICS into a context of specific patient-related factors that contribute to the risk of pneumonia.

Although lipomas are the most common mesenchymal tumors, the intramuscular type is rare. We report the case of a patient with rotator cuff arthropathy with a lipoma in the teres minor. Wide surgical excision and total shoulder arthroplasty with reverse prosthesis was performed and 18 months of follow up showed excellent results with any recurrence.

In humans, pathogenic variants in the DHH gene underlie cases of 46,XY gonadal dysgenesis. DHH is part of the Hedgehog family of proteins, which require extensive processing, including self-cleavage of the precursor for efficient signalling. In our work, we have assessed the effect of several human DHH pathogenic variants involved in recessive complete or partial gonadal dysgenesis, on protein processing and sub-cellular localization.

Purpose Of Review: This manuscript aims to review (for the first time) studies describing NGS sequencing of preeclampsia (PE) women's DNA.
Recent Findings: Describing markers for the early detection of PE is an essential task because, although associated molecular dysfunction begins early on during pregnancy, the disease's clinical signs usually appear late in pregnancy. Although several biochemical biomarkers have been proposed, their use in clinical environments is still limited, thereby encouraging research into PE's genetic origin.

A cadaver represents a temporal energy-loaded resource, which provides arthropods with food, protection and a place in which to find a mate. Insects are usually the first organisms to discover and colonize a cadaver; as decomposition progresses, insects colonize cadavers in a predictable sequence. This work aimed to establish cadaverous entomofauna relationships with regard to stages of decomposition and environmental conditions using multiple correspondence analysis and thereby to identify the way in which insects distribute a perishable and changing resource.

To improve the outcome of children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) treated at the National Cancer Institute, Bogota, Colombia, a protocol based on the BFM-90 (Berlin, Frankfurt, Munster study) and the LSA2L2 regimens was implemented in the year 1993. The patients were classified as being standard risk (SR) or high risk (HR) according to clinical criteria, to which cytogenetic information and day-8 prednisone response were also added. A 123-patient cohort entered the study, 18 of them being considered SR and 105 HR.
