Light interacts with gas bubbles in various ways, potentially leading to photon losses in gas-liquid photochemical applications. Given that light is a valuable 'reagent', understanding these losses is crucial for optimizing reactor efficiency. In this study, we address the challenge of quantifying these interactions by implementing a method that separately determines the photon flux and utilizes actinometric experiments to determine the effective optical path length, a key descriptor of photon absorption.

Esports refers to competitive video gaming where individuals compete against each other in organized tournaments for prize money. Here, we present the Competitive Esports Physiological, Affective, and Video (CEPAV) dataset, in which 300 male Counter Strike: Global Offensive gamers participated in a study aimed at optimizing affect during esports tournament. The CEPAV dataset includes (1) physiological data, capturing the player's cardiovascular responses from before, during, and after over 3000 CS: GO matches; (2) self-reported affective data, detailing the affective states experienced before gameplay; and (3) video data, providing a visual record of 552 in-laboratory gaming sessions.

The morphology of nanodrugs is of utmost importance in photothermal therapy because it directly influences their physicochemical behavior and biological responses. Given that women are disproportionately affected by dementia on several levels and assistive technology (AT) is increasingly used to manage the care of the growing number of people with dementia (PwD), there is an urgent need to understand the role of sex and gender regarding adoption of AT in dementia care. We conducted a scoping review following the framework of Arksey and O'Malley. All identified topics of sex and gender analysis (compatibility, attitude, usage, acceptance, access, usefulness, and well-being) were related to AT adoption, where the majority revealed sex and gender differences.

Reducing nonradiative recombination is crucial for minimizing voltage losses in metal-halide perovskite solar cells and achieving high power conversion efficiencies. Photoluminescence spectroscopy on complete or partial perovskite solar cell stacks is often used to quantify and disentangle bulk and interface contributions to nonradiative losses. Accurately determining the intrinsic loss in a perovskite layer is key to analyzing the origins of nonradiative recombination and developing defect engineering strategies.

Entropies for alkane isomers longer than C are computed using our recently developed linear regression model for thermochemical properties which is based on second-order group contributions. The computed entropies show excellent agreement with experimental data and data from Scott's tables which are obtained from a statistical mechanics-based correlation. Entropy production and heat input are calculated for the hydroisomerization of C isomers in various zeolites (FAU-, ITQ-29-, BEA-, MEL-, MFI-, MTW-, and MRE-types) at 500 K at chemical equilibrium.

Reduction behavior of PdO-NiO/SiO: how Pd location affects cinnamaldehyde hydrogenation.

In this work, we study the reducibility of a PdO precursor placed by strong electrostatic adsorption on either NiO or SiO of NiO/SiO obtained by incipient wetness impregnation. The catalysts were characterized by HAADF-STEM, quasi- XPS, CO IR spectroscopy and H chemisorption as a function of the reduction temperature and evaluated for their performance in cinnamaldehyde hydrogenation. PdO on SiO requires reduction at higher temperatures to achieve appreciable rates of cinnamaldehyde hydrogenation.

Photoacoustic imaging (PAI) is a developing image modality that benefits from light-matter interaction and low acoustic attenuation to provide functional information on tissue composition at relatively large depths. Spontaneous phase separation of materials is a powerful strategy to generate highly defined 2D nanomorphologies with novel properties and functions. Exemplary are such morphologies in block copolymers or amphiphilic systems, whose formation can be well predicted based on parameters such as volume fraction and shape factor. In contrast, the formation of 2D nanomorphologies is currently unpredictable in materials perfectly defined at the molecular level, in which crystallinity plays a significant role.
