Limestone mining waste and its derived CaO were checked as an adsorbents of pb, Cu, and Cd ions from water solution. The characterization of Limestone and calcined limestone was studied by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and Surface area measurements (BET). The optimum conditions of sorbent dosage, pH, initial concentration, and contact time factors were investigated for pristine limestone and calcined limestone absorbents.

Background: Flavonoids are naturally occurring dietary phytochemicals with significant antioxidant effects aside from several health benefits. People often consume them in combination with other food components. Compiling data establishes a link between bioactive flavonoids and prevention of several diseases in animal models, including cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, gut dysbiosis, and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD).

Gastric cancer (GC) remains a significant global health burden due to its high aggressiveness, early metastasis, and poor prognosis. Despite advances in chemotherapy and targeted therapies, drug resistance remains a major obstacle to improving patient outcomes. Integrins, a family of transmembrane receptors, play a pivotal role in mediating tumor growth, invasion, and drug resistance by interacting with the tumor microenvironment (TME) and regulating signaling pathways such as Wnt/β-catenin, FAK, and MAPK.

The VCo-LDH/CS hydrogel beads were created by combining VCo-layered double hydroxide (VCo-LDH) and chitosan (CS) using a cross-linking process with epichlorohydrin. These beads were specifically designed to remove tetracycline (TTC). To characterize the VCo-LDH/CS hydrogel beads, several analytical techniques were used, with PXRD, XPS, FESEM, EDX, and FT-IR.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is considered one of the most deadly cancer types nowadays. It is rapidly increasing due to many factors, such as unhealthy lifestyles, water and food pollution, aging, and medical diagnosis development. Detecting CRC in its early stages can help stop its growth by providing the necessary treatments, thereby saving many people's lives.

The comprehensive identification of peaks in untargeted lipidomics using LC-MS/MS remains a significant challenge. Confidence in lipid annotation can be greatly improved by integrating a highly accurate machine learning-based retention time prediction model. Such an approach enables the identification of lipids for understanding pathogenic mechanisms, biomarker discovery, and drug screening.

The discovery of novel anti-cancer drugs motivated us to synthesize a new series of triple 1,2,3-triazole-based arm scaffolds featuring distinct un functionalized alkyl and/or aryl side chains with possible anti-cancer action using the click chemistry approach under both conventional and green microwave irradiation (MWI) methods. The Cu(I) catalyzed cycloaddition reaction of targeted tris-alkyne with un functionalized aliphatic and aromatic azides has been adopted as an efficient approach for synthesizing the desired click adducts. Microwave irradiation improved the synthetic processes, resulting in higher yields and faster reaction times.

The widespread use of nano titanium dioxide (nano-TiO₂) poses ecological risks to marine ecosystems, especially when combined with ocean warming. However, most previous studies have only examined water-related exposures, leaving a gap in research on the impact of food transfer on organisms. In this work, the harmful impacts of nano-TiO on the Japanese swimming crab Charybdis japonica were studied through three scenarios: direct exposure (DE) of the crabs to warming and nano-TiO, indirect exposure (IE) via consumption of thick-shelled mussels Mytilus coruscus exposed to the same conditions, and combined exposure (CE), where crabs were directly subjected to warming and nano-TiO while feeding affected mussels.

Colostrum, the initial mammary secretion produced by various mammals following birth, is a conduit for maternal immunity transfer in diverse mammalian species. Concurrently, many cellular processes are occurring in the neonatal small intestine to prepare it to receive molecular signals from a superfood essential for the neonate's health and development. During the prepartum colostrum secretion, the newborn intestine undergoes transient alterations in the intestinal barrier, primarily regulating immunoglobulin absorption.

Ionizing radiation induces various types of DNA damage, and the reparability and lethal effects of DNA damage differ depending on its spatial density. Elucidating the structure of radiation-induced clustered DNA damage and its repair processes will enhance our understanding of the lethal impact of ionizing radiation and advance progress toward precise therapeutics. Previously, we developed a method to directly visualize DNA damage using atomic force microscopy (AFM) and classified clustered DNA damage into simple base damage clusters (BDCs), complex BDCs and complex double-strand breaks (DSBs).

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is closely related to SARS-CoV and uses angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 as its cellular receptor. In early 2020, reports emerged linking CoV disease 2019 (COVID-19) to olfactory and gustatory disturbances. These disturbances could be attributed to virus-induced damage to olfactory neurons or immune responses, thereby affecting sensory functions.

Indoor navigation is becoming increasingly essential for multiple applications. It is complex and challenging due to dynamic scenes, limited space, and, more importantly, the unavailability of global navigation satellite system (GNSS) signals. Recently, new sensors have emerged, namely event cameras, which show great potential for indoor navigation due to their high dynamic range and low latency.
