Background: Recently, silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) were shown to provoke oxidative stress through the release of reactive oxygen species and consequently induce cell damage. Selenium-loaded chitosan nanoparticles (CS-SeNPs) have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, indicating that they ameliorate Ag-NPs-induced ovarian toxicity.

Objective: This study aimed to assess how well CS-SeNPs counteract the damaging effects of Ag-NPs on the ovarian tissue of adult female albino rats.

The pyrimidine nucleus is a fundamental component of human DNA and RNA, as well as the backbone of many therapeutic agents. Its significance in medicinal chemistry is well-established, with pyrimidine derivatives receiving considerable attention due to their potent anticancer properties across various cancer cell lines. Numerous derivatives have been synthesized, drawing structural inspiration from known anticancer agents like dihydropyrimidine compounds, which include the active cores of drugs such as 5-fluorouracil and monastrol, both of which have demonstrated strong anticancer efficacy.

Bosniak classification version 2019 (v2019) was a major revision to version 2005 (v2005) that defined cystic renal mass subclasses based on wall or septa features. To determine the proportion of malignancy within cystic renal masses stratified by Bosniak classification v2019 class and feature-based subclass. MEDLINE and EMBASE databases were searched on July 24, 2023 for studies published in 2019 or later that reported cystic renal masses that underwent renal-mass CT or MRI, were assessed using Bosniak v2019, and had a reference standard (histopathology indicating benignity or malignancy or ≥5-year imaging follow-up indicating benignity).

Protocol for fecal microbiota transplantation: A microaerophilic approach for mice housed in a specific pathogen-free facility.

STAR Protoc

January 2025

Microbiology & Radiobiology Units, Belgian Nuclear Research Centre SCK CEN, 2400 Mol, Belgium; Bioinformatics Group, Center for Informatics Science, Nile University, Giza, Egypt. Electronic address:

Recently, studies have emerged exploring the potential application of fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) in pre-clinical settings. Here, we present a protocol for FMT for mice housed in a specific pathogen-free (SPF) facility. We describe steps for sample collection, microaerophilic processing of freshly collected fecal pellets, and administration through oral gavage.

The current study aims to determine how the interactions between practice (distributed/focused) and mental capacity (high/low) in the cloud-computing environment (CCE) affect the development of reproductive health skills and cognitive absorption. The study employed an experimental design, and it included a categorical variable for mental capacity (low/high) and an independent variable with two types of activities (distributed/focused). The research sample consisted of 240 students from the College of Science and College of Applied Medical Sciences at the University of Hail's.

Progress of Measles and Rubella Surveillance in the Context of Measles Elimination in the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region, 2019-2022.

Vaccines (Basel)

November 2024

Department of Immunization, Vaccines and Biologicals, World Health Organization, 1202 Geneva, Switzerland.

In 2015, the 62nd session of the Regional Committee [RC] of the Eastern Mediterranean Region [EMR] endorsed the Eastern Mediterranean Vaccine Action Plan 2016-2020 (EMVAP) that included postponement of the measles elimination target to before 2020. However, the EMR does not have a regional rubella control or elimination goal. We reviewed the progress of measles and rubella surveillance in context of measles elimination in the Eastern Mediterranean Region during 2019-2022.

This paper presents a high-performance circularly polarized (CP) magneto-electric (ME) dipole antenna optimized for wideband millimeter-wave (mm-wave) frequencies, specifically targeting advancements in 5G and 6G technologies. The CP antenna is excited through a transverse slot in a printed ridge gap waveguide (PRGW), which operates in a quasi-transverse electromagnetic (Q-TEM) mode. Fabricated on Rogers RT 3003 substrate, selected for its low-loss and cost-effective properties at high frequencies, the design significantly enhances both impedance and axial ratio (AR) bandwidths.

Sensors (Basel)

December 2024

Engineering Surveying Department, College of Engineering Sciences, Omdurman Islamic University, Khartoum 11111, Sudan.

The objective of our research is to produce a digital elevation model (DEM) in a real-time domain. For this purpose, GNSS measurements are obtained from a kinematic trajectory in a clear location in New Aswan City, Egypt. Different real-time processing solutions are employed, including real-time precise point positioning (RT-PPP) and real-time kinematics (RTK); additionally, the widely used post-processed precise point positioning (PPP) processing scenario is used.

One of the most challenging aspects of manipulating the flow of fluids in subsurfaces is to control their flow direction and flow behavior. This can be especially challenging for compressible fluids, such as CO, and for multiphase flow, including both water and carbon dioxide (CO). This research studies the ability of two crosslinked polymers, including hydrolyzed polyacrylamide and acrylic acid/hydrolyzed polyacrylamide crosslinked polymers, to reduce the permeability of both CO and formation water using different salinities and permeability values and in the presence of crude oil under different injection rates.

Revitalizing Soybean Plants in Saline, Cd-Polluted Soil Using Si-NPs, Biochar, and PGPR.

Plants (Basel)

December 2024

Department of Agricultural Microbiology, Agriculture and Biology Research Institute, National Research Centre, 33 EI Buhouth St., Dokki, Cairo 12622, Egypt.

Excessive irrigation of saline-alkaline soils with Cd-contaminated wastewater has resulted in deterioration of both soil and plant quality. To an investigate this, a study was conducted to explore the effects of biochar (applied at 10 t ha), PGPRs ( (USDA 110) + at 1:1 ratio), and Si-NPs (25 mg L) on soybean plants grown in saline-alkali soil irrigated with wastewater. The results showed that the trio-combination of biochar with PGPRs, (as soil amendments) and Si-NPs (as foliar spraying), was more effective than individual or coupled applications in reducing Cd bioavailability in the soil, minimizing its absorption, translocation and bioconcentration in soybean tissues.
