High voltage alternating current (HVAC) and high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission systems have acted as the pillars for the transmission field in power networks. Thus, two types of circuit breakers (CBs) existed; HVDC-CB and HVAC-CB. This imposed a burden on manufacturers by requiring them to set up a separate production line for each type of them, increasing production time and overall cost.

Industrialization of military textiles faces many challenges and some requirements such as durability, protection and suitability for hostile environment must be provided. Herein, fluorescent protective cotton with ultraviolet radiation (UVR)-protection and antimicrobial property was currently prepared via the immobilization of lanthanide-metal organic framework (Ln-MOF). Cotton fabrics were primarily activated via cationization process with 3-Chloro-2-hydroxypropyltrimethyl ammonium chloride to obtain the cationized cotton (Q-cotton).

A novel type of concrete-encased steel (CES) composite column implementing Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECC) confinement (ECC-CES) has recently been introduced, offering significantly enhanced failure behavior, ductility, and toughness when compared to conventional CES columns. This study presents an innovative method for predicting the eccentric compressive capacity of ECC-CES columns, utilizing adaptive sampling and machine learning (ML) techniques. Initially, the research introduces a finite element (FE) model for ECC-CES columns, incorporating material and geometric nonlinearities to capture the inelastic behavior of both ECC and steel through appropriate constitutive material laws.

The Nile Delta, North Africa's leading gas-producing region, was the focus of this study aimed at delineating gas-bearing sandstone reservoirs from the Pleistocene to Pliocene formations using a combination of pre-stack inversion and rock physics analysis. This research employed seismic inversion techniques, including full-angle stack seismic volumes, well logs, and 3-D with rock physics modeling to refine volumes of P-wave velocity (Vp), S-wave velocity (Vs), and density. Traditional seismic attributes, such as far amplitude, proved insufficient for confirming gas presence, highlighting partial angle stacks, integrated the need for advanced methods.

Photovoltaic (PV) modules may encounter nonuniform situations that reduce their useable power volume, causing ineffective maximum power point tracking (MPPT). Moreover, due to the incorporation of bypass diodes, power-voltage (P-V) graph has multi-peaks when each component of the module receives different solar irradiation. This paper proposes a solution to this problem using an arithmetic optimization algorithm (AOA) for MPPT in PV systems operating in nonuniform situations.

This paper investigates enhancing the efficiency of solar water pumping systems (SWPS) by implementing a Maximum Power Point Tracking technique based on the Bat Metaheuristic Optimizer (MPPT-bat) for the photovoltaic generator (PVG) side, coupled with Direct Torque Control (DTC) for the induction motor powering the pump. Unlike traditional techniques, which make no compromise between tracking speed, oscillation and robustness. The integration of the MPPT-bat represents a significant advance, making it possible to improve PVG performance whatever the weather conditions.

Purpose: To investigate the effectiveness and safety of accelerated epithelium-on crosslinking to stabilize tomographically suspicious fellow eyes of young patients with unilateral clinically evident keratoconus (KC) compared with observation alone.
Methods: This retrospective observational study included 43 fellow eyes of 43 young patients with unilateral clinically evident KC who completed a 24-month follow-up. Twenty-four eyes underwent accelerated epithelium-on crosslinking [epi-on corneal crosslinking (CXL) group] and 19 eyes were observed (observation group).

This manuscript focuses on optimizing a Hybrid Renewable Energy System (HRES) that integrates photovoltaic (PV) panels, wind turbines (WT), and various energy storage systems (ESS), including batteries, supercapacitors (SCs), and hydrogen storage. The system uses a multi-objective optimization strategy to balance power management, aiming to minimize costs and reduce the likelihood of loss of power supply probability (LPSP). Seven different algorithms are assessed to identify the most efficient one for achieving these objectives, with the goal of selecting the algorithm that best balances cost efficiency and system performance.

The cation/proton exchanger (CHX), salt overly sensitive (SOS), and receptor-like kinase (RLK) genes play significant roles in the response to salt stress in plants. This study is the first to identify the SOS gene in Solanum lycopersicum (tomato) through genome-wide analysis under salt stress conditions. Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (qRT-PCR) results indicated that the expression levels of CHX, SOS, and RLK genes were upregulated, with fold changes of 1.

Background: The palmar aponeurosis is extremely adherent to the skin above it. Many of the pre-tendinous coarse fibers enter the dermis at an angle, not just in the palmar creases but also throughout the palm. It's difficult to distinguish whether Dupuytren's illness starts in the skin's dermis or the palmar aponeurosis since the skin adheres so closely to the palmar fascia.
