Diabetic foot ulcers and infections are complications that can result in significant morbidity such as the need for amputations, especially in uncontrolled diabetes, thereby profoundly impacting quality of life. While traditional treatments like wound care and antibiotics are effective, there is growing interest in the role of micronutrients (such as vitamins C, D, E, zinc and magnesium) in improving outcomes. This study aims to evaluate how these micronutrients affect diabetic foot infections and the need for amputation, offering insights to enhance overall prognosis.

In this case report, a case of carcinoma metastasis of unknown primary mimicking spondylodiscitis in a patient with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is presented. A 50-year-old AIDS patient presented with a history of mechanical falls from his own level one month ago and leg weakness for the last three days. Spinal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed a compression fracture of the T4 vertebral body, spinal cord compression, and pathology compatible with spondylodiscitis.

Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory, non-caseating granulomatous multisystem disease associated with JAK-STAT (Janus kinases-signal transducer and activator of transcription proteins) pathway activation. We present a patient with severe multi-systemic sarcoidosis who showed marked improvement with tofacitinib with regards to pulmonary, cutaneous, nasal and laryngeal disease. Tofacitinib prevented critical laryngeal stenosis from progressing to tracheostomy, induced regression of cutaneous lesions and improved pulmonary function in this steroid-resistant and immunosuppressive intolerant case.

Objective: Ablation therapy is employed in low-risk differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) cases to facilitate patient monitoring by reducing thyroglobulin (Tg) levels to measurable levels below after surgery by eliminating residual thyroid tissue. However, there is still uncertainty about the minimum activity dose required for effective ablation. Opting for low-dose [131I]-NaI for ablation offers several advantages for both patients and healthcare services.

Due to the lack of a definitive effective treatment method that provides a complete cure and increases survival rates in uveal melanoma, the search for alternative treatments at the molecular level continues. In this context, we aimed to comparatively analyze the therapeutic effects of 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 (D2), 1a, 25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (D3), bevacizumab and radiotherapy (RT) in a uveal melanoma cell line (MP41). Cytotoxicity was evaluated using XTT cell proliferation kit and Xcelligence cell analyzer system.

Solitary Fibrous Tumors (SFTs) are uncommon mesenchymal tumors of fibroblastic/myofibroblastic origin that stem from various anatomical sites. Most SFTs are asymptomatic and noticed incidentally by various imaging modalities. Although SFTs were initially identified in the pleura and erroneously considered to originate solely from serosal layers, extrapleural SFTs have been reported more commonly than their pleural counterparts.

Cyclic thrombocytopenia (CTP) is a very rare condition that is characterized by episodic thrombocytopenia over a period of three to five weeks. The pathogenesis of CTP is unclear and most likely heterogeneous; however, usually there is no clue about the underlying disease. In this case report, we presented a 48-year-old female who had a low platelet count of 66 x 10/µL (range: 150-450 x 10/µL) on her routine examination with no evidence of bleeding.

Purpose: The present study aimed to analyze and compare sonographic features of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) subtypes to determine whether ultrasound (US) may aid in differentiating particular subtypes.
Methods: This retrospective study enrolled 133 patients diagnosed with 142 histopathologically proven PTCs as per the fifth edition of the World Health Organization classification of thyroid neoplasms between January 2013 and May 2023. US features based on the American College of Radiology and European Thyroid Imaging and Reporting Data Systems (TIRADS), and histopathological characteristics of nodules were assessed and compared.
