Childhood cancer is the leading cause of illness-related death, leaving thousands of parents to experience bereavement. This article presents select findings about the nature of the continued parenting relationship, which is an essential theme of the parental bereavement experience. Heideggerian phenomenology provided the philosophical underpinnings of this study, which aimed to describe the lived experience of bereaved parents who experienced the death of a child due to cancer.

To determine the impact of an educational intervention on student nurse knowledge of and interest in home care careers. A quasi-experimental pre-test/post-test design was used among nursing students (N= 108) completing an online module and simulation. T-tests measured knowledge changes and descriptive statistics measured home care career interest.

Objective: Eating disorders (EDs) are serious, complex illnesses with both behavioral and physical health features. EDs have high rates of medical and psychiatric morbidity, and a 6% mortality rate, the highest of any mental illness. Early detection of EDs offers the best opportunity for recovery; yet, estimates are that as few as one in 10 individuals with an ED receive treatment.

Objective: To elucidate whether Amazon's virtual assistant, Alexa, provides evidence-based support as a supplement to provider-facilitated prenatal care, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods: Using a conceptual content analysis approach, a query of 40 questions, relating to all phases of pregnancy, was collected from Alexa by two independent investigators, using two unique devices, over a one-week period between May 20, 2020 and May 27, 2020. Alexa's responses were matched to the evidence-based content from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and reviewed by a Certified Nurse Midwife for completeness and currency.

Testing is a crucial strategy to control the spread of a pandemic. Voluntary participation in this strategy will depend on individual preferences towards and willingness-to-pay (WTP) for test results. Background: Limited guidance exists for pediatric trauma centers (PTCs) regarding best practice for measuring and reviewing performance improvement (PI) in the child physical abuse population. To move PTC programs toward standardized guidelines and PI practices, current practice and points of consensus among level 1 and 2 PTCs across the United States were assessed.
Methods: Utilizing a two-round, modified Delphi methodology, electronic surveys were distributed to pediatric trauma program managers and coordinators representing 125 PTCs.

Aim: The purpose of the study was to evaluate the validity of the Clinical Simulation Competency Assessment Tool (ClinSimCAT).
Background: The 2011 Future of Nursing report encouraged nursing programs to move toward a competency-based approach to education. As no tool was found to holistically evaluate nursing student competency in clinical and simulation settings, we developed the ClinSimCAT based on the Institute of Medicine recommended competencies.

Nurses experience high rates of violence on the job, which is a significant stressor. Stress can alter nurses' care of patients, but stress can be mitigated by resilience. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between nurses' resilience levels and their reports of patient care following episodes of workplace violence.

The use of long-acting reversible contraception, namely, intrauterine device (IUDs) and the subdermal implant, has been recommended to address the high rate of the unintended pregnancy in the United States. IUDs are a safe, highly effective contraceptive method, suitable for most women. The underutilization of IUDs arises in part from the lack of translation of best practices in the clinical setting as well as fears and misperceptions about this contraceptive method held by health care providers and women.

Human trafficking is the second largest criminal industry in the United States and almost half of the victims are children. This crime against children is referred to as domestic minor human sex trafficking (DMHST).
