This study aimed to examine the effect of Phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibition on Aquaporin-5 (AQP5) and its potential cell signaling pathway in the ovarian ischemia reperfusion (OIR) model. Thirty adult female rats were divided into five groups: Group 1; Control: Sham operation, Group 2; OIR that 3 hour ischemia followed by 3 hour reperfusion, Group 3; OIR + Rolipram 1 mg/kg, Group 4; OIR + Rolipram 3 mg/kg, Group 5; OIR + Rolipram 5 mg/kg. Rolipram was administered intraperitoneally to the rats in groups 3-4 and 5 at determined doses 30 minutes before reperfusion.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection and the resulting coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) represented a global public health crisis and the most significant pandemic in modern times. Transmission characteristics, and the lack of effective antiviral treatment protocol and protective vaccines, pushed healthcare systems, particularly intensive care units (ICUs), to their limits and led to extreme quarantine measures to control the pandemic. It was evident from an early stage that patient stratification approaches needed to be developed to better predict disease progression.

Heavy metals even at low concentrations can damage all systems in the human body from the cellular level by causing disruptions in DNA repair mechanisms, cell division and apoptosis. A 49-year-old man who had been working in the sanding and deburring department of a factory producing underground water pipes for 15 years, presented with complaints of effort dyspnea, cough and loss of strength in his left hand. Computed tomography of the lung revealed diffuse micronodular appearance in all zones in both lungs, subpleural nodule and bronchial dilatation.

Background: This study aimed to investigate whether there is a difference between the readings of plain sacroiliac radiographs of patients with sacroiliitis by the same observer.
Materials And Methods: In the study, we included patients diagnosed with sacroiliitis through sacroiliac MRI who had undergone plain radiographs at our center between 2015 and 2022. The radiographic grading of patients was conducted by transferring their demographic and clinical information into a computerized environment so that these details would not be identifiable.

Background: The emergence of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) caused a pandemic named coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) that has become the greatest worldwide public health threat. Although different treatment recommendations are offered for COVID-19 infection, steroid treatment remains important.
Aim: We aimed to demonstrate the effect of pulse steroid therapy (PST) on inflammatory markers and patient outcomes in moderate/severe COVID-19 pneumonia.

The frontal QRS-T angle (fQRS-T angle) in ECG is a new measure of myocardial repolarization, in which a higher fQRS-T angle is linked with worse cardiac outcomes. Reverse dipper hypertension is also linked to poor cardiac outcomes. The purpose of this study was to investigate the association between the fQRS-T angle and reverse dipper status in individuals newly diagnosed with hypertension who did not have left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH).

Although multifocality is common in patients with papillary thyroid cancer, its effects on lymphatic metastasis and the necessity of central dissection in the presence of multifocality are still controversial. In our clinic, 258 patients who underwent thyroidectomy between 2015 and 2020 and were found to have papillary thyroid cancer in postoperative pathology reports were analyzed. The tumor characteristics contributing to central lymph node metastasis positivity were evaluated.

Introduction: Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) is a thrombotic microangiopathy caused by accumulation of ultra-large von Willebrand factor (vWF) due to the significantly reduced activity ADAMTS13. Limited studies have been published examining the blood group as an epidemiological factor that can contribute to development of TTP. It has been suggested that due to low vWF levels, the distribution of the "O" blood group among TTP patients may be lower than anticipated compared to the blood group distribution rates in the normal population.
