Background: Soluble forms of progenitor cell receptors may be implicated in the delayed erythropoietic response during severe anemia. In this study, plasma levels of soluble erythropoietin receptor (sEPO-R) and soluble granulocyte, macrophage-colony stimulating factor receptor (sGM-CSFR) were assessed in infected children in Ghana.
Methods: This case-control study was conducted at Tamale Teaching Hospital, Ghana.

Sesame cultivation was until recently restricted to the northwestern part of Benin. The yield is relatively low, as there are no improved varieties introduced and widely adopted so far. This study aimed to assess the molecular diversity, genetic differentiation, and the agronomic performance of a collection of local cultivars and introduced lines of sesame from China.

Accurate diagnosis through imaging and a multidisciplinary approach is essential for timely surgical management, preventing complications, and ensuring better patient outcomes.
Abstract: The multiplication of the gallbladder is a congenital malformation with a rare incidence of 1 in 4000 patients, among which the trifoliate gallbladder, even rarer, is included.
This case report highlights the diagnostic challenges encountered in a 30-year-old female presenting with fever followed by Wernicke's aphasia without right-sided weakness, ultimately diagnosed as tumefactive demyelination (TD). TD is a rare neurological condition often misidentified as brain tumors or inflammatory disorders. The case emphasizes the importance of precise differentiation through advanced magnetic resonance imaging, showing restricted diffusion at lesion edges and the absence of gadolinium enhancement.

Background And Aim: Impaired coagulation and fibrinolysis have been implicated in thromboembolism in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected individuals. This study evaluated the plasma levels of plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) and coagulation biomarkers in HIV-infected individuals on highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART).
Methods: This matched case-control study from March to December, 2020 comprised 76 participants: 38 HIV-positive individuals on HAART and 38 apparently healthy HIV-negative individuals as controls.
This study demonstrated the therapeutic potentials of seed oil (CMSO) capable of alleviating BPA-induced dyslipidemia and adipokine dysfunction. In this study, we evaluated the effects of CMSO on adipokine dysfunctions and dyslipidemia in bisphenol-A (BPA)-induced male Wistar rats. Six-week-old 36 albino rats of 100-200 g weight were assigned randomly to six groups, which received varied doses of BPA and/or CMSO.

The two terms pot experiments were carried out in randomized complete block design with three replications. The genotype-trait (GT) biplot revealed high percentage variability above 70% in related growth traits for the first and second principal components (PC) summed up, in the two trials, whereas related floral and fruit traits association indicated medium to high (55%-65%) total explained variations in both seasons.

The role of von Willebrand factor (VWF) in the pathogenesis of VOC has not been fully investigated in Nigeria.
Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the level of VWF in subjects with sickle cell disease (SCD) in Calabar, Nigeria, to determine its role in the pathogenesis of VOC.
