Urban floods will continue to be an alarming issue worldwide due to climate change and urban expansion. The costly and less environmentally friendly grey infrastructure is not always the most adequate solution to resolve urban pluvial flooding issues. The combination of grey and blue-green infrastructures, also called hybrid infrastructure, has been considered a promising solution for urban stormwater management.

Background: Pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA) is the treatment of choice for patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) with accessible lesions. Breathing pure oxygen (hyperoxia) during right heart catheterization (RHC) allows for the calculation of the right-to-left shunt fraction (Qs/Qt). In the absence of intracardiac shunt, Qs/Qt can be used as a marker of ventilation-perfusion mismatch in patients with CTEPH.

Objectives: The study aimed to assess the relationship of tinnitus with hyperacusis with cognitive impairment as indicated by the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) tool.
Methods: This multicenter cross-sectional study included individuals with chronic tinnitus from the "Unification of Treatments and Interventions for Tinnitus Patients" (UNITI) database. Participants were recruited from four different tertiary clinical centers located in Athens and Granada (Mediterranean group), as well as Berlin and Regensburg (German group).
Background: Pain is a major public health problem in the Global South, particularly among marginalized communities, such as Somali pastoralists. Yet, the topic of chronic pain has not yet been comprehensively studied in Sub-Saharan Africa, specifically in the Somali region of Ethiopia. Therefore, this study aims to explore the perceptions and notions of chronic pain among Somali pastoralists in this context.

Introduction: Individuals with dementia spend most of the day without care, without encounters, and usually without activity. Although this has been proven in studies, there is a knowledge gap on how individuals with dementia experience these periods of time. Such knowledge would be highly relevant for health professionals and relatives to develop adequate strategies for dealing with these periods of time.

Tinnitus, the phantom perception of sounds, generates distress and anxiety in those affected. Cognitive behavioral treatment approaches reproducibly help patients in managing chronic tinnitus. This study systematically evaluated the usefulness of a tinnitus app (with areas of attention and relaxation, mindfulness, acceptance, self-efficacy), which is prescribed for a total of nine months.

ZHAW School of Health Sciences, Institute of Nursing, Katharina-Sulzer-Platz 9, Winterthur, 8400, Switzerland.
Background: Most patients in specialized palliative care units need nursing support to perform activities of daily living (ADL), such as using a toilet or transferring out of a bed or chair. To deliver high-quality ADL support that facilitates patients' movement and protects nurses' musculoskeletal health, nurses need appropriate knowledge and skills. The objective of this study is to investigate the impact of education based on the "Advanced Kinaesthetics in Palliative care (AdKinPal) program" on the competence in Kinaesthetics, self-efficacy regarding ADL support in end-of-life care and musculoskeletal complaints of nurses from specialist palliative care units.

Background: Tinnitus is a leading cause of disease burden globally. Several therapeutic strategies are recommended in guidelines for the reduction of tinnitus distress; however, little is known about the potentially increased effectiveness of a combination of treatments and personalized treatments for each tinnitus patient.
Methods: Within the Unification of Treatments and Interventions for Tinnitus Patients project, a multicenter, randomized clinical trial is conducted with the aim to compare the effectiveness of single treatments and combined treatments on tinnitus distress (UNITI-RCT).

Pragmatic Evidence Lab, Research Center for Clinical Neuroimmunology and Neuroscience Basel (RC2NB), University Hospital Basel and University of Basel, Spitalstrasse 2, Basel, CH-4031, Switzerland.
Background: Pragmatic trials provide decision-oriented, real-world evidence that is highly applicable and generalizable. The interest in real-world evidence is fueled by the assumption that effects in the "real-world" are different to effects obtained under artificial, controlled, research conditions as often used for traditional explanatory trials. However, it is unknown which features of pragmatism, generalizability, and applicability would be responsible for such differences.

With mHealth apps, data can be recorded in real life, which makes them useful, for example, as an accompanying tool in treatments. However, such datasets, especially those based on apps with usage on a voluntary basis, are often affected by fluctuating engagement and by high user dropout rates. This makes it difficult to exploit the data using machine learning techniques and raises the question of whether users have stopped using the app.

Tinnitus is a highly prevalent condition, affecting more than 1 in 7 adults in the EU and causing negative effects on sufferers' quality of life. In this study, we utilised data collected within the "UNITI" project, the largest EU tinnitus-related research programme. Initially, we extracted characteristics from both auditory brainstem response (ABR) and auditory middle latency response (AMLR) signals, which were derived from tinnitus patients.

The extensive application of deep learning in the field of quantitative risk management is still a relatively recent phenomenon. This article presents the key notions of Deep Asset-Liability-Management ("Deep ALM") for a technological transformation in the management of assets and liabilities along a whole term structure. The approach has a profound impact on a wide range of applications such as optimal decision making for treasurers, optimal procurement of commodities or the optimization of hydroelectric power plants.

Mobile applications have gained popularity in healthcare in recent years. These applications are an increasingly important pillar of public health care, as they open up new possibilities for data collection and can lead to new insights into various diseases and disorders thanks to modern data analysis approaches. In this context, Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) is a commonly used research method that aims to assess phenomena with a focus on ecological validity and to help both the user and the researcher observe these phenomena over time.

Evidence-based medicine (EBM) is generally accepted as the gold standard for high-quality medicine and, thus, for managing patients with tinnitus. EBM integrates the best available scientific information with clinical experience and patient values to guide decision-making about clinical management. To help health care providers and clinicians, the available evidence is commonly translated into medical or clinical guidelines based on a consensus.
