Eales' Disease is an idiopathic peripheral retinal vasculopathy first described by British ophthalmologist Henry Eales in 1880. Most prevalent in healthy young males, Eales' Disease often presents with symptoms of sudden blurry or decreased vision and floaters. Although no clear, standardized stage of the disease exists, it progresses through three overlapping phases-peripheral periphlebitis, ischemic capillary ischemia, and retinal neovascularization.

This review provides an overview of retinal vascular disorders that are less frequent in Germany and Europe compared to diabetic retinopathy and retinal venous or arterial occlusive disorders. The knowledge of these disorders is important for the differential diagnosis of retinal vascular disorders as well as potentially associated systemic disorders. In the current part one epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical presentation, and therapy are discussed for hypertensive retinochoroidopathy, ocular ischemic syndrome, retinal alterations in sickle cell disease, Eales disease, radiation retinopathy, peripheral exudative hemorrhagic chorioretinopathy, and retinal disorders associated with pregnancy.

Purpose: We studied Korean patients with Eales' disease to document clinical features, long-term outcomes, and explore its association with TB, given South Korea's high TB burden.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed medical records of Eales' disease patients for clinical characteristics, long-term outcomes, and its association with TB.
Results: Among 106 eyes, the average age of diagnosis was 39.

Eales' disease is a peripheral occlusive retinal phlebitis, with an unclear pathogenesis. The classic association with hypersensitivity to protein infers that immunologic disturbance may be involved. Here, we described three cases of Eales' disease.

Objectives: To investigate visual and anatomical outcomes of vitreoretinal surgeries in patients with Eales' disease.
Materials And Methods: In this retrospective study, 22 eyes of 21 patients with vitreous hemorrhage (VH) or tractional retinal detachment (TRD) secondary to Eales' disease who underwent vitreoretinal surgery between January 1997 and December 2015 and had at least 1 year of follow-up were included.
Results: The mean best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was significantly higher at final visit (0.

We report the rescue effect of intravitreal aflibercept injections on retinal neovascularization and macular edema due to Eales disease. Case 1 was a 36-year-old female. Intravitreal aflibercept was administered as rescue therapy after persistent retinal neovascularization following retinal photocoagulation, periocular triamcinolone, and intravitreal ranibizumab injection.
