Introduction: Patients with hyperprolactinemia who require medical therapy are typically treated with dopamine agonists (DAs). In most cases, DAs normalize prolactin levels, control symptoms, and substantially decrease tumor size. Here, we aimed to compare the efficacy of cabergoline (CAB) and bromocriptine (BRC) in patients with hyperprolactinemia at a single center.

Context: Pituitary stalk interruption syndrome (PSIS) is a rare, congenital anomaly of the pituitary gland characterized by pituitary gland insufficiency, thin or discontinuous pituitary stalk, anterior pituitary hypoplasia, and ectopic positioning of the posterior pituitary gland (neurohypophysis). The clinical presentation of patients with PSIS varies from isolated growth hormone (GH) deficiency to combined pituitary insufficiency and accompanying extrapituitary findings. Mutations in HESX1, LHX4, OTX2, SOX3, and PROKR2 have been associated with PSIS in less than 5% of cases; thus, the underlying genetic etiology for the vast majority of cases remains to be determined.

Purpose: Omentin, a member of the adipocytokines family, is derived from adipose tissue and a lower level of serum omentin is considered as a metabolic risk factor. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the serum levels of omentin in patients with pseudoexfoliation syndrome (PES).
Materials And Methods: Patients without any systemic or ocular disease other than PES were included in the study.

Unlabelled: The aim of this study was to investigate association of radiographic (BI-RADS 4 and 5) results and prognostic factors of invasive ductal carcinomas with their histopathological subtypes. A total of 103 patients histopathologically diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma of breast with in last five years period were enrolled. Of them, 69 patients who had radiological reports in were included from registry of Radiology Department; Duzce University Training and Research Hospital archives.

Background: Surgeons have aimed to achieve strong repair so as to begin early active rehabilitation programs for flexor tendon injury. Multi-strand suture techniques were developed to gain improved gap resistance and ultimate force compared with the respective two-strand techniques. In vivo studies indicate that multiple strands may cause ischemia during the intrinsic healing process by decreasing the total cross-sectional area of the injured site, unless the total cross-sectional area of the sutures is not decreased.

Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic value of argyrophilic nucleolar organizing regions (AgNORs) in the nondiagnostic fine needle aspiration biopsy (NFNAB) specimens (due to insufficient cell groups) of cases with thyroid nodules.
Study Design: Thirty-five patients with NFNAB were included in the study. FNAB stained with Giemsa was faded using the McKee technique, then stained for AgNOR detection according to a specific protocol.

Argyrophilic nucleolar organizing region associated proteins (AgNORs) play roles in cell proliferation and a variety of diseases. We attempted to determine whether decreased NOR protein synthesis causes human hair loss. We studied 21 healthy males who suffered hair loss on the frontal/vertex portion of the head.

Argyrophilic nucleolar organizing region associated proteins (AgNORs) have been shown to be of interest in a variety of different diseases including thyroid disorders. Our aim was to distinguish benign thyroid lesions from papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) via AgNOR count and with a new approach, via AgNOR surface area/total nuclear surface area (NORa/TNa) proportions in the nuclei on fine-needle aspiration (FNA) materials. Thirty patients (eight men and 22 women) whose FNA was compatible with benign lesion and 26 patients (eight men and 18 women) whose FNA was compatible with PTC were included in the study.

Purpose: Vaporization techniques using lasers have gained wide acceptance for benign prostatic hyperplasia as an alternative to transurethral prostate resection. The high power, 980 nm wavelength diode laser is a new promising alternative with a more rapid ablation rate and excellent hemostatic properties, as shown in ex vivo and in vivo animal models. We prospectively evaluated vaporization efficiency of the high power, 980 nm diode laser for bladder outlet obstruction due to benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Purpose: We aimed to evaluate a new technique using a thermosensitive glue coating for impression cytology of the ocular surface.
Methods: We prepared plasma polymerized N-isopropyl acrylamide (pNIPAM)-coated parylene C (poly(monochloro-p-xylylene)) films to obtain cytological samples from the conjunctival surface. We compared this new technique with the conventional nitrocellulose paper method in regards to the quality of impression cytology and quantity of the cells in 30 postmenauposal women with dry eye complaints.

Tularemia caused by Francisella tularensis, which is considered a biological warfare agent, is a widely distributed zoonosis. In this study, we aimed to compare a 2005 outbreak of tularemia that was confirmed as waterborne by PCR to outbreak of tularemia that was reported as waterborne in 2000 and to investigate the changes of epidemiological characteristics between these two outbreaks occurring in the same region. In the present study, a total of 11 patients were diagnosed with tularemia.
