Department of Biological Science, College of Life & Health Sciences and BioChip Research Center, Hoseo University, Asan‑si, Chungcheongnam‑do 336‑795, Republic of Korea.

The present study investigated the toxicity of HangAmDan-B1 (HAD-B1) on A549-Cisplatin resistant (A549CR) cells. HAD‑B1 inhibited the growth of A549CR cells in a concentration‑dependent manner; HAD‑B1 was more effective at inhibiting A549CR cell viability compared with vehicle‑treated cells. The reduction in viability may be due to S‑phase cell cycle arrest and the induction of apoptosis in HAD‑B1‑treated cells.

Objectives: To assess the quality and completeness of published reports of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of moxibustion.

Method: We searched six databases to retrieve eligible RCTs of moxibustion published from 2000 to December 2015. We used the STandards for Reporting Interventions in Clinical Trials of Moxibustion (STRICTOM) and Risk of Bias (ROB) tool to assess the completeness of reporting of RCTs of moxibustion and evaluate the reporting quality of included RCTs.

Background And Objective: Natural killer (NK) cells are known to have an effect on the prevention of tumorigenesis for the initial cancer, as well as the metastatic cancer. For the past several years, the relationship between cancer and inflammation has been actively studied in preclinical and clinical settings, but there are no reports on alterations in and correlation for NK cell activity (NKA) and systemic inflammatory markers. Accordingly, this study aimed to measure correlation between NKA and the levels of other systemic inflammatory markers in patients with gastric, breast, and pancreatic cancer who received Wheel Balance Cancer Therapy (WBCT).

We investigated the antiangiogenic effects of Lindera obtusiloba Blume (Hwangmaemok, HMM), which is a plant in the Lauraceae family that is commonly used to treat colds and gastritis. Moreover, given that a recent study reported the inhibitory effects of HMM extract on cancer metastasis, we hypothesized that HMM extract might possess and antiangiogenic function. Thus, this study was conducted to investigate the effects of HMM extract on endothelial cell proliferation, migration, and neovascularization in chick chorioallantoic membrane (CAM), and investigated the molecular mechanism of antiangiogenesis using a ProteoChip-based proteomics technology.

The anti-metastatic properties of sanguiin H-6 were examined in human umbilical vein vascular endothelial cells (HUVECs) and MDA-MB-231 human breast cancer cells. In HUVECs, sanguiin H-6 inhibited the density of migrated cells compared to that observed after treatment with the vehicle. In addition, sanguiin H-6 at a concentration of 6.

The purpose of this study was to observe the effects of autonomic nerve pharmacopuncture (ANP) treatment on cancer-related fatigue (CRF) in patients with advanced cancer. This observational case study was conducted at the East West Cancer Center of Daejeon University's Dunsan Korean Medical Hospital. Two patients were observed.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report a case series of advanced cancer patients whose cancer pain was relieved by using autonomic nerve pharmacopuncture (ANP) treatment. ANP is a subcutaneous injection therapy of mountain ginseng pharmacopuncture (MGP) along the acupoints on the spine (Hua-Tuo-Jia-Ji-Xue; 0.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous processes of vertebrae) to enhance the immune system and to balance autonomic nerve function.
