Methods: The study included 109 patients, with 34 patients in the GDM group, 40 in the obese non-GDM group, and 35 in the control group. Maternal serum irisin levels at the time of delivery were measured by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit.

Objective: Herein, we measured the concentration of insulinlike growth factor I (IGF-I), IGF-II, leptin, adiponectin, ghrelin, resistin, and visfatin in the umbilical cord blood of newborns categorized as "small for gestational age" (SGA), "appropriate for gestational age" (AGA), and "large for gestational age" (LGA). Our aim was to elucidate the link between the levels of these proteins and fetal growth.

Background: Previous studies have indicated an association between maternal metabolic conditions and general developmental disturbances of the offspring.
Objective: We aimed to investigate the influence of long-term maternal fructose intake during gestation and lactation on neurobehavioral development of rat offspring.
Methods: Twelve female Sprague Dawley rats were received either 30% fructose enriched water (n = 6) or regular tap water (control, n = 6) for 12 weeks.
Objective: The objectivity and reliability of examining methods are controversial. We subjected fourth-year medical students to a specially designed verbal exam which we called objectively structured verbal examination. We aimed to evaluate feedback from students about objectively structured verbal examination as an assessment instrument for gauging their surgical knowledge.

Objectives: In this study, we aimed to compare patients with fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) and those with myofascial pain syndrome (MPS) and healthy women and to investigate the prevalence of childhood traumatic experiences (CTEs) in relation to comorbid mood and anxiety disorders.
Patients And Methods: Between February 2014 and May 2014, a total of 136 women including 52 with FMS, 35 with MPS, and 49 healthy controls were included in the study. The Sociodemographic Data Form, Mood and Anxiety Disorders Modules of Structured Clinical Interview for Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders fourth edition (DSM-IV) Axis I Disorders (SCID-I), Fibromyalgia- related Symptom Scale (FSS), Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HDRS), Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS), and Childhood Trauma Questionnaire-28 (CTQ-28) were applied to participants.

Purpose: To investigate the association between VEGF gene polymorphisms and the responses to treatment with intravitreal ranibizumab (IVR) in patients with diabetic macular edema (DME).
Methods: This prospective study, conducted at the Kutahya Dumlupinar University Faculty of Medicine, included 95 patients with DME that were treated with IVR and 32 patients without DME despite proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR). The participants were divided into three groups: DME with non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy, DME with PDR, and PDR without DME; patients with DME who were treated with IVR were further divided into two groups based on their response to the treatment.

The aim of the study was to analyze whether the measurement of changes in the anatomical position and volume of middle concha, the volume changes in the area between the middle concha and lamina papyracea, the evaluation of opacification in major paranasal sinuses, and osteomeatal complex occlusion in cases with middle concha by out-fracture technique during endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal approach is a minimally invasive surgery, and also to find out whether these changes lead to the development of tendency to rhinosinusitis. It was a retrospective clinical study. Forty-five cases, between 2013 and 2015, planned for endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal surgery due to hypophyseal pathology at the Neurosurgery Departments of Marmara University Hospital were evaluated retrospectively.
