Objective: To perform a systematic review and meta-analysis to compare the results of the Latarjet procedure performed using screws (S) or suture-button for coracoid graft fixation.

Methods: A systematic search in Pubmed, EMBASE, and The Cochrane Library databases was carried out according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis guidelines. Cohort studies comparing outcomes in the Latarjet procedure with screw fixation versus the Latarjet procedure with suture-button fixation were included.

Introduction: Early data suggest use of a mixed lipid emulsion (LE) with a soybean oil reduction strategy in parenteral nutrition (PN) may improve clinical outcomes. Duke University Hospital made a full switch to a Soybean oil/MCT/Olive/Fish Oil lipid (4-OLE) from pure soybean oil-based LE (Intralipid, Baxter Inc) in May 2017. Since 4-OLE has limited evidence related to its effects on clinical outcome parameters in US hospitals, evidence for clinical benefits of switching to 4-OLE is needed.

Background: Care Assessment of Need (CAN) scores predicting 90-day mortality and hospitalization are automatically computed each week for patients receiving care at Veterans Health Administration facilities. Multiple medications are proven to reduce morbidity and mortality in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF), but data regarding personalized approaches to optimize medication dosing remain limited. Current treatment guidelines recommend up-titration to target or maximally tolerated doses of these medications, yet use and dosing remain suboptimal in clinical practice. Body surface area (BSA) is a readily available clinical metric, used for dosing many medications, closely associated with blood pressure, renal function, and vascular congestion, and may influence efficacy, safety, and tolerability of HFrEF medications.

Background: Primary pancreatic leiomyosarcoma is an extremely rare entity that needs high clinical suspicion in order to diagnose it at an early stage. Background: Glycogen storage disease type Ia (GSD Ia) in dogs closely resembles human GSD Ia. Untreated patients with GSD Ia develop complications associated with glucose-6-phosphatase (G6Pase) deficiency. This study tested the hypothesis that the presence of isolated ankle (A-OA; N=30), knee (K-OA; N=20), or hip (H-OA; N=30) osteoarthritis (OA) compared to asymptomatic controls (N=15) would lead to mechanical changes in the affected joint but also in all other lower limb joints and gait overall. Stride length, stance and swing times, as well as joint angles and moments at the hip, knee, and ankle were derived from 3-D kinematic and kinetic data collected from seven self-selected speed walking trial. Values were compared across groups using a 1×4 ANCOVA, covarying for walking speed.

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is an extremely malignant brain tumor for which current therapies do little to remedy.
