Background: We describe two complex cases in the setting of COVID-19 at the End of Life, to enhance learning for all patients.

Case Presentation: Maintenance of sustained comfort in two cases required multiple drugs, specifically selected for symptoms that necessitated three separate pumps delivering continuous 24-hour subcutaneous infusion.

Case Management: Management of sustained comfort included opioid, midazolam, anti-secretory, diclofenac for intractable temperature, phenobarbital for extreme agitation, in one, where seizure activity was present, while insomnia, was a prominent feature of another.

Virtual clinical pharmacy training in the era of COVID-19: A report on undergraduate students' perceptions and academic performance.

Introduction: The study objective was to explore the impact of the complete virtual transition of in-hospital clinical training on students' academic performance and to assess students' perceptions of the overall experience.

Objectives: Self-monitoring of physical activity (PA) has the potential to contribute to successful behaviour change in PA interventions in different populations, including people with inflammatory joint diseases (IJDs). Rhizomelic chondrodysplasia punctata (RCDP) is a rare, multisystem, autosomal recessive, peroxisomal disorder of a family of congenital disorders known as chondrodysplasia calcificans punctate (CCP). RCDP is characterized by disproportionately short extremities (rhizomelia), congenital cataracts, and joint contractures. Dysmorphic facial features include a broad nasal bridge, epicanthus, high-arched palate, dysplastic external ears, and micrognathia.

Towards a Consensus on an ICF-Based Classification System for Horizontal Sound-Source Localization.

The study aimed to develop a consensus classification system for the reporting of sound localization testing results, especially in the field of cochlear implantation. Against the background of an overview of the wide variations present in localization testing procedures and reporting metrics, a novel classification system was proposed to report localization errors according to the widely accepted International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) framework. Odd-even oddball task: Evaluating event-related potentials during word discrimination compared to speech-token and tone discrimination.

Tonal and speech token auditory oddball tasks have been commonly used to assess auditory processing in various populations; however, tasks using non-word sounds may fail to capture the higher-level ability to interpret and discriminate stimuli based on meaning, which are critical to language comprehension. As such, this study examines how neural signals associated with discrimination and evaluation-processes (P3b) from semantic stimuli compare with those elicited by tones and speech tokens. This study comprises of two experiments, both containing thirteen adults with normal hearing in both ears (PTA ≤ 20 dB HL).

Objective: We aimed to examine the predictive and prognostic value of plasma zonulin for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in women at 24-28 weeks of gestation.

Methods: This retrospective study was carried out with pregnant women with GDM (n=98) and normal glucose tolerance (control group) (n=132). GDM was diagnosed according to American Diabetes Association (ADA) criteria with a one-step 75-g OGTT at 24-28 gestational weeks.

Cortical auditory evoked potential in cochlear implant users: An objective method to improve speech perception.

Objective: To investigate if cortical auditory evoked potential (CAEP) measures can be used to verify the cochlear implant (CI) map and consequently improve CI outcomes in adults with bilateral hearing loss.

Design: CAEPs were measured in CI recipients using the speech tokens /m/, /g/, /t/ and /s/. If CAEP responses were present for all speech tokens, the participant's map was considered "satisfactory".
