Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is seen as a diverse disease and a primary contributor to global mortality. Malnutrition arises within chronic illness, which involves protein energy depletion and inadequate levels of essential nutrients. These factors increase the likelihood of death and the overall impact of the disease on affected individuals.

This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to investigate whether percutaneous mitral valve repair (PMVr) using MitraClip was more effective than surgery or medical therapy for long-term morbidity and mortality. We searched MEDLINE, EMBASE, and CENTRAL (Cochrane Library) databases to identify relevant studies that recruited adult patients with functional or secondary mitral valve regurgitation who underwent PMVr with MitraClip implantation using appropriate search terms and Boolean operators. The odds ratios (ORs) were pooled using the random-effects model.

Background: Pain after therapy is an important clinical problem in patients with breast cancer. Unfortunately, cancer patients have a lower quality of life due to inadequate treatment of posttreatment pain; therefore, improving medication management plans and palliative care has become one of the most important targets of cancer therapy. Therefore, the current study aimed to examine the impact of posttreatment pain on medication satisfaction in patients with various stages of breast cancer in Palestine.

Background: The global spread of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2, responsible for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), poses a significant risk to public health. Beyond the respiratory issues initially associated with the condition, severe cases of COVID-19 can also lead to complications in other organs, including the liver. Patients with severe COVID-19 may exhibit various clinical signs of liver dysfunction, ranging from minor elevations in liver enzymes without symptoms to more serious cases of impaired liver function.

Background: Diphenhydramine (DPH) is an antihistamine medication that in overdose can result in anticholinergic symptoms and serious complications, including arrhythmia and coma. We aimed to compare the value of various machine learning (ML) models, including light gradient boosting machine (LGBM), logistic regression (LR), and random forest (RF), in the outcome prediction of DPH poisoning.
Materials And Methods: We used the National Poison Data System database and included all of the human exposures of DPH from January 01, 2017 to December 31, 2017, and excluded those cases with missing information, duplicated cases, and those who reported co-ingestion.

Introduction: Acute poisoning is a significant global health burden, and the causative agent is often unclear. The primary aim of this pilot study was to develop a deep learning algorithm that predicts the most probable agent a poisoned patient was exposed to from a pre-specified list of drugs.
Research Design & Methods: Data were queried from the National Poison Data System (NPDS) from 2014 through 2018 for eight single-agent poisonings (acetaminophen, diphenhydramine, aspirin, calcium channel blockers, sulfonylureas, benzodiazepines, bupropion, and lithium).

This study aimed to evaluate the treatment of anemia in patients with HD and describe the factors associated with it and its effect on health-related quality of life (HRQOL).
Methods: The study was cross-sectional in design.

Background: Crohn's disease represents a challenge for patients concerned with the modified diet regimen as well as practitioners who seek the best nutritional therapy. Crohn's disease can alter the body's ability to digest food and to absorb nutrients, resulting in severe vitamin deficiencies, malnutrition and sometimes life-threatening complications. However, a comprehensive bibliometric analysis is lacking to map the current links between nutrition and Crohn's disease in terms of the number of citations, geographic distribution and growth trends of publications.

Many questions were raised due to the divergent results between cardiovascular outcomes assessment of the MitraClip percutaneous therapy for heart failure patients with functional mitral regurgitation (COAPT) and multicenter study of percutaneous mitral valve Repair MitraClip device in patients with severe secondary mitral regurgitation (MITRA-FR) trials on the use of percutaneous mitral valve repair for secondary mitral regurgitation. This paper examined pooled patients' characteristics and outcomes from real-life experience compared with those in the 2 landmark trials. A comprehensive search identified eligible studies published in 2020 and 2021.

Background: Different pharmaceutical characteristics of the dosage form (DF) have a direct effect on how easily oral solid medicine is swallowed. The practice of crushing tablets or opening the capsule occurs daily in the hospital, and most nurses are unknowledgeable regarding these issues. Coadministration of medications with food can cause changes in drug absorption and lead to an alteration in gastrointestinal motility, which can cause an unexpected effect on the dissolution and absorption of the drug.

Snakebite is a relatively common health condition in Iran with a diverse snake fauna, especially in tropical southern and mountainous western areas of the country with a plethora of snake species. The list of medically important snakes, circumstances and effects of their bite, and necessary medical care require critical appraisal and should be updated regularly. This study aims to review and map the distributions of medically important snake species of Iran, re-evaluate their taxonomy, review their venomics, describe the clinical effects of envenoming, and discuss medical management and treatment, including the use of antivenom.
