Background: The purpose of the study was to assess the accuracy of tibial and femoral component size prediction using computerised tomography (CT) based patient specific instruments in total knee arthroplasty.
Methods: Eighty-eight knees in 58 patients underwent total knee arthroplasty (TKA) using CT based patient specific instruments between March 2015 to April 2016. All patients were assessed for the pre operative femoral and tibial component sizes predicted by the CT-based pre-operative plan.

Pediatric pain is often undertreated/neglected due to time constraints, difficulties in timing of oral analgesics, fear of side effects of opioids and anxiolytics, and apprehension of additional pain in the use of local anesthetic injections. In this study, the researcher was prompted to choose rapidly acting interventions that were low dose and allowed the child to stay alert, suitable for a quick discharge. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of Entonox, play therapy, and a combination to relieve procedural pain in children aged 4-15 years.

Herpes simplex virus, type 1 (HSV-1) causes cold sores, keratitis and rarely, fatal encephalitis. The infection is lifelong, with sensory ganglia serving as reservoirs of latent infection. Recently, exposure to HSV-1 has also been repeatedly associated with reduced cognitive function among healthy individuals without prior encephalitis.

A 41-year-old HIV positive woman was started on highly active antiretroviral therapy when her CD(4) count was 54/cu mm. Three weeks later, she developed erythematous to skin-colored plaques over the face. Investigations revealed a moderate eosinophilia, raised ESR, elevated 24-hour urinary calcium and hyperglobulinemia.

A sixty year old patient presented with a slowly progressive swelling of the nose, of one year duration, suggesting a clinical diagnosis of subcutaneous zygomycosis. On investigation, the tissue fungal culture grew Conidiobolus coronatus, confirming the diagnosis as rhinoentomophthoromycosis. He was treated with a combination of oral fluconazole and oral potassium iodide for a total period of 5 months.
