Background: In recent years, there has been a growing utilization of minimally invasive (MI) techniques, which provide the potential advantages of minimizing surgical stress, post-operative pain, and hospitalization duration. Nevertheless, the existing body of literature primarily comprises of studies conducted at a single medical site, which are of low quality and lack a comprehensive analysis of treatment techniques exclusively focused on spondylolisthesis. We conducted this systematic review and meta-analysis to compare minimally invasive surgery (MIS) and open surgery (OS) spinal fusion outcomes for the treatment of spondylolisthesis.

Basal and stimulated inhibin B in pubertal disorders.

Pubertal disorders in the form of delayed puberty (DP) or precocious puberty (PP) can cause considerable anxiety to both children and parents. Since the clinical and biochemical signatures of self-limiting and permanent conditions overlap considerably, it can be hard to determine whether to offer them reassurance or intervention. Researchers have thus long been searching for a robust test to indicate that the process of endogenous puberty is underway and is likely to proceed to completion.

F-FDG PET/CT in lymphangiosarcoma: A case report and review of literature.

Objectives: Lymphangiosarcoma is a rare tumor that affects the upper limbs of patients who have undergone breast cancer surgery, including axillary dissection, followed by radiation therapy (RT) to the axilla and has a poor prognosis. F-FDG PET/CT may enable the earlier detection of malignant transformation in a setting of chronic lymphedema and help evaluate the extent and staging of the tumor, allowing earlier initiation of treatment options.

Case Presentation: We herein report a case of cutaneous lymphangiosarcoma in a 47-year-old breast carcinoma patient, which occurred 9 years after initial surgery and radiation therapy.

Outcomes and complications of hip arthroscopy for femoroacetabular impingement syndrome: A narrative review.

Hip arthroscopy has emerged as the primary surgical intervention for Femoroacetabular Impingement Syndrome (FAIS), a common cause of hip pain in young adults, particularly athletes. This narrative review examines the long-term outcomes, complications, and debates surrounding arthroscopic management of FAIS. Key findings include sustained improvements in patient-reported outcomes, return to sport, and functional recovery, particularly in younger patients and those with cam-type FAIS.

Does induction or augmentation of labor increase the risk of postpartum hemorrhage in pregnant women with anemia? A multicenter prospective cohort study in India.

Objective: To investigate whether induction/augmentation of labor in pregnant women with anemia increases the risk of postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) and whether this risk varied by indications for labor induction/augmentation and by anemia severity in pregnancy.

Methods: In a prospective cohort study of 9420 pregnant women from 13 hospitals across India, we measured hemoglobin concentrations at recruitment (≥28 weeks of gestation) and blood loss after childbirth during follow-up and collected clinical information about PPH. Clinical obstetric and childbirth information at both visits were extracted from medical records.

Development of Protocol for the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) task force study to strengthen the implementation of National Programme for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NP-NCD) in tribal population.

Understanding the health culture of tribal community is important as health problems among tribal communities and their care is influenced by sociocultural factors, which will help in the implementation of health services. The conventional way of improving the access for the general populations may not suit the tribal populations owing to their distinct culture and owing to health systems factors as well. A stepwise process was followed for the development of a protocol to study to strengthen the implementation of National Programme for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases.

Endovascular Aortic Repair in Traumatic Descending Thoracic Aortic Transection: A Case Report.

Aortic transection, a near-complete tear through the layers of the aorta, is a critical condition often resulting from trauma such as motor vehicle collisions. The urgency of managing aortic transection underscores the critical need for effective interventions. We report the case of a male in his early 50s with no significant medical history who presented to the emergency department following a motor vehicle collision, sustaining multiple injuries including a descending thoracic aortic transection.

Drugs used for pain management in gastrointestinal surgery and their implications.

Pain is the predominant symptom troubling patients. Pain management is one of the most important aspects in the management of surgical patients leading to early recovery from surgical procedures or in patients with chronic diseases or malignancy. Various groups of drugs are used for dealing with this; however, they have their own implications in the form of adverse effects and dependence.

Formulation and pilot test of tuberculosis patient score card (TB-PSC) in selected public health care facilities of Himachal Pradesh, India.

Background: Community engagement is advocated to improve quality of services using community score card. Current study was done with the objective to formulate the TB-PSC and to carry out its feasibility assessment at three selected public healthcare facilities of Himachal Pradesh, India.

Methods: A mixed-method study design was adopted for the study and was carried out from April 2022 to March 2023.

Acute parkinsonism in a patient with myxedema crisis: A case report.

The Effectiveness of Sodium-Glucose Cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) Inhibitors on Cardiovascular Outcomes and All-Cause Mortality in Patients With Acute Coronary Syndrome: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to investigate the impact of early sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) initiation on long-term cardiovascular outcomes and all-cause mortality among patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). For this study, we adhered to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) 2020 guideline. Two researchers independently performed a comprehensive literature search on PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library, spanning from the inception of each database to February 24, 2023, without language limitations.

Tension Band Wiring in Gap Non-union Patella - A Simple Technique with Profound Results: Case Report.

Introduction: Gap non-union patellas are challenging to treat for an orthopedic surgeon. We hereby report a case of a 22-year-old person with a 3 cm gap nonunion, its surgical management, functional outcome, and implications for clinical practice.

Case Report: A 22-year-old active male presented to us with a background of comminuted fracture patella left side that he suffered 1 year ago, following which he was treated by open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) with Tension Band Wiring (TBW).

Measuring the Effect of (AB-PMJAY) on Health Expenditure among Poor Admitted in a Tertiary Care Hospital in the Northern State of India.

Background: - (AB-PMJAY) as a financial risk protection scheme intends to reduce catastrophic health expenditure (CHE), especially among poor. The current study was carried out to assess the utility of AB-PMJAY in terms of reduction in CHE from before and after admission in a tertiary hospital in the northern state of India.

Methodology: It was a hospital-based cross-sectional study carried out from August 2020 to October 2021 at a public tertiary hospital of Himachal Pradesh, India.

Systemic Sclerosis in Males-Deciphering the Enigma of Erasmus Syndrome.

Background: Systemic sclerosis is an autoimmune connective tissue disease characterized by fibrosis in skin and internal organs. Chronic exposure to silica may not only lead to silicosis of lungs but also systemic sclerosis. Systemic sclerosis is relatively commoner in females; however, occupational exposure to silica in males makes them vulnerable to silica--associated systemic sclerosis (Erasmus syndrome).

Introduction: Citizen science (CS) is an emerging approach in public health to harness the collective intelligence of individuals to augment traditional scientific efforts. However, citizens' viewpoint, especially the hard-to-reach population, is lacking in current outbreak-related literature. We aim to understand the awareness, readiness and feasibility of outbreak-related CS, including digitally enabled CS, in low-income and middle-income countries.

Maternal and fetal factors associated with stillbirth in singleton pregnancies in 13 hospitals across six states in India: A prospective cohort study.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the incidence of and risk factors for stillbirth in an Indian population.

Methods: We conducted a secondary data analysis of a hospital-based cohort from the Maternal and Perinatal Health Research collaboration, India (MaatHRI), including pregnant women who gave birth between October 2018-September 2023. Data from 9823 singleton pregnancies recruited from 13 hospitals across six Indian states were included.

Role of Liraglutide Use in Patients With Heart Failure.
