Factors Associated With Hypertension and Cardiovascular Parameters in Children With Infrequently Relapsing Nephrotic Syndrome.

Objectives: To assess the prevalence of hypertension in children with infrequently relapsing nephrotic syndrome (IRNS) and its association with dyslipidemia, and end organ damage including left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH), at relapse and after steroid induced remission.

Methods: Prospective observational study conducted in 83 children aged 1-12 years with IRNS, presenting in relapse. Blood pressure, fundus examination, blood and urine investigations were done at relapse and then at 4 weeks of therapy.

Correlation of Fetal Anterior Abdominal Wall Thickness and Other Standard Biometric Ultrasound Measurements to Predict Fetal Macrosomia in Gestational Diabetes.

Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is one of the most common medical conditions affecting pregnancy and significantly increasing the risk for maternal and perinatal complications. The aim of the present study is to study the correlation of fetal anterior abdominal wall thickness (FAAWT) and other standard fetal biometric parameters measured by ultrasound between 36 and 39 weeks of gestation with neonatal birth weight in pregnancies complicated by GDM.

Methods: Prospective cohort study in a tertiary care center including 100 singleton pregnancies with GDM were subjected to ultrasound between 36 and 39 weeks of gestation.

Revisiting Folger's pouch in double-chambered right ventricle.

Folger's pouch is a right ventricular outflow pouch arising from the distal low-pressure chamber in double-chambered right ventricle. It is rarely described on echocardiogram due to difficult visualization and lack of knowledge of its existence. Retrospective assessment of echocardiogram after an angiocardiographic evaluation demonstrates the pouch in a modified high parasternal view.

Rare cause of intussusception in a young male with a new possible etiology - A case report.

Introduction: Inflammatory Fibroid Polyp (IFP) is a rare benign tumor of the gastrointestinal tract with no proven etiology. IFPs may sometimes produce complications like intussusception when present in the small bowel. This is a case report of a patient with an established diagnosis of inflammatory fibroid polyp with abdominal tuberculosis.

Psoriasiform Drug Eruption to Finasteride: Uncommon Side Effect of a Commonly Used Drug.

Finasteride, a 5-α reductase inhibitor, is generally well tolerated on long-term use and cutaneous adverse events have rarely been observed with the drug. We present the case of a 25-year-old male who developed an extensive psoriasiform eruption within a week of starting finasteride 1 mg for androgenetic alopecia.

Comparison of Ultrasound Examination and Fiberoptic Laryngoscopy for Confirmation of Laryngeal Mask Airway Placement.

Objectives: 1) To compare ultrasound (US) examination and fiberoptic laryngoscopy (FOL) for confirmation of laryngeal mask airway (LMA) placement. 2) To evaluate the necessity for reinsertion of LMA based on FOL.

Methods: This prospective observational study included 100 adult patients of American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Grade I and II, undergoing elective surgery under General Anesthesia requiring Proseal LMA™ placement as an airway device.

Resection of a large Solid Pseudopapillary Neoplasm of the Pancreas: A multidisciplinary feat and review of literature.

No reflow phenomenon in CAD patients after percutaneous coronary intervention: A prospective hospital based observational study.

The present study assessed incidence, risk factors, in-hospital and short-term outcomes associated with no-reflow in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in STEMI, NSTEMI, unstable angina and stable angina. Out of 449 patients, 42 (9.3%) developed no-reflow.

Incontinentia pigmenti (IP) is a rare neurocutaneous syndrome of X-linked dominant inheritance (1:40000 births in the Caucasian population) which is usually lethal in males. It commonly presents with skin, central nervous system, and dental anomalies. Ophthalmic associations of IP include intra-ocular anomalies such as leukocoria, megalocornea, corneal edema, band keratopathy, bullous keratopathy, iridocorneal attachments, macular capillary dropout, peripheral arteriovenous shunts, retinal neovascularization, vitreous hemorrhage, preretinal fibrosis, traction retinal detachment as well as strabismus.

A short-term follow-up study on breastfeeding practices, growth parameters and immunization practices among babies born to COVID-19 positive mothers in a tertiary care hospital.

We aimed to study the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) rate and routine follow-up practices including immunization. A total of 62 neonates born to COVID-19 positive mothers and an equal number of neonates born to COVID-19 negative mothers were prospectively evaluated for EBF rate and routine neonatal follow-up practices including delay (>7 days) in routine immunization at 3 months follow-up. We further tried to compare the results across two epochs (epoch 1, March-June 2020 and epoch 2, July-November 2020).

Direct antibody test negative autoimmune hemolytic anemia with pulmonary tuberculosis: A diagnostic challenge.

Tuberculosis (TB) has varied manifestations, but autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) due to TB is rare. Direct antibody test (DAT) or Coombs negative AIHA is also rare. We report a case of a 14-year-old boy who presented with hemolytic anemia and pneumonia.
