In this article, we describe a novel approach to the clinical management of a completely edentulous patient who is in hepatitis B carrier state including infection control protocol for all clinical and laboratory steps. Furthermore, a novel method of incorporating patient's medical history in the form of a QR code in the processed denture is also described.

Here, we present an interesting case where a Russell's viper bite induced the rapid development of a calculus in submandibular gland in a 10-year-old boy.

Sewage is one of the biggest contributors to coastal pollution. The study was aimed to assess the impact of sewage on coastal water quality of Kanyakumari, the southernmost part of India. A bacteriological survey was made on distribution and abundance of fecal indicators and human pathogenic bacteria and seasonal influence on the bacterial load and antibiotic resistance of the isolates.

Splenic rupture and subsequent splenectomy in a young healthy victim following Russell's viper bite.

Splenic rupture and/or splenectomy is/are not uncommon in clinical arena. Here we present this case of extensive haemorrhage-induced splenic rupture which resulted in splenectomy in a young healthy male (who did not have any previous medical conditions) following a Russell's viper bite. He developed upper abdominal and shoulder pain on his left side along with hypotension and reduced level of haemoglobin on the third day following bite despite antivenom treatment.

Quadriceps femoris is an extensor muscle in the anterior compartment of thigh and is traditionally taught to be composed of four heads. Recently, there is an increased interest in the occurrence of an additional muscle head of quadriceps femoris. But scientific knowledge regarding its incidence is lacking in the South Indian population.

A prospective observational study of chemotherapy-induced adverse drug reaction and the quality of life in cancer patients in a tertiary care hospital.

Aim: The aim was to study the pattern of adverse drug reaction (ADR) provoked by anticancer therapy and to assess the quality of life (QoL) in cancer patients.

Materials And Methods: This study was conducted in Tamil Nadu on 75 patients from February to July 2019 taking into account their demographic profile, ADR occurrence and its causality, outcome, organ system-wise distribution of ADRs, and others.
