Prevalence of Anosmia in 10.157 Pediatric COVID-19 Cases: Multicenter Study from Turkey.

Introduction: COVID-19-related anosmia is a remarkable and disease-specific finding. With this multicenter cohort study, we aimed to determine the prevalence of anosmia in pediatric cases with COVID-19 from Turkey and make an objective assessment with a smell awareness questionnaire.

Material And Methods: This multicenter prospective cohort study was conducted with pediatric infection clinics in 37 centers in 19 different cities of Turkey between October 2020 and March 2021.

Uric acid albumin ratio as a predictive marker of short-term mortality in patients with acute kidney injury.

Objective: We aimed to investigate uric acid and albumin ratio (UA/A) as a marker of short-term mortality in acute kidney injury (AKI). Both uric acid and albumin are strongly correlated with the development and mortality of AKI.

Methods: The patients hospitalized from May 2019 to September 2019 for AKI were included in this study.

Clinicopathological Evaluation of 15 Ectopic Adrenal Tissues.

Background: Ectopic adrenal tissue is a rare condition associated with embryological development defects seen in many different areas in the abdomen and pelvis. Here, we aimed to discuss the clinicopathological features of ectopic adrenal tissues diagnosed in our clinic, in light of the literature.

Methods: We included cases of ectopic adrenal tissues incidentally detected in the specimens from patients undergoing operation for various diagnoses during 2012- March 2020.

Temporalis muscle lies in the temporal fossa, and it is usually severed or detached from its origin in order to reach the lateral aspect of the fronto-orbital bar.

Evaluation of Patients with Fibrotic Interstitial Lung Disease: Preliminary results from the Turk-UIP Study.

Objective: Differential diagnosis of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is important among fibrotic interstitial lung diseases (ILD). This study aimed to evaluate the rate of IPF in patients with fibrotic ILD and to determine the clinical-laboratory features of patients with and without IPF that would provide the differential diagnosis of IPF.

Material And Methods: The study included the patients with the usual interstitial pneumonia (UIP) pattern or possible UIP pattern on thorax high-resolution computed tomography, and/or UIP pattern, probable UIP or possible UIP pattern at lung biopsy according to the 2011 ATS/ERS/JRS/ALAT guidelines.

Anxiety among front-line health-care workers supporting patients with COVID-19: A global survey.

Objective: We aimed to explore anxiety status across a broad range of HCWs supporting patients with COVID-19 in different global regions.

Method: This was an international online survey in which participation was on voluntary basis and data were submitted via Google Drive, across a two-week period starting from March 18, 2020. The Beck Anxiety Inventory was used to quantify the level of anxiety.

Importance of gynecological assessment for the treatment of vaginismus as a predictive value.

Aim: In this study, we aimed to analyze the impact of a detailed anamnesis and gynecological examination findings of women with vaginismus on its treatment success in a tertiary therapy center with 18 years of experience.

Methods: The socio-demographical factors, gynecological examination notes and the treatment results of 281 vaginismus patients were analyzed between July 2018 and July 2019. The relationship with these parameters and the number of sessions for treatment were evaluated.

Epidemiological features of primary glomerular disease in Turkey: a multicenter study by the Turkish Society of Nephrology Glomerular Diseases Working Group.

Background: The largest data on the epidemiology of primary glomerular diseases (PGDs) are obtained from the databases of countries or centers. Here, we present the extended results of the Primary Glomerular Diseases Study of the Turkish Society of Nephrology Glomerular Diseases (TSN-GOLD) Working Group.

Methods: Data of patients who underwent renal biopsy and received the diagnosis of PGD were recorded in the database prepared for the study.

Efficacy of Ultrasonography in the Diagnosis of Transudative Pleural Fluids.

Aims: We aimed to evaluate the efficacy of thoracic ultrasonography (USG) in diagnosis of pleural exudates and transudates using pleural thickness (PT) measurement.

Patients And Methods: Patients who underwent investigations for pleural fluid between January 2018 and May 2018 were included in this prospective study. The patients were evaluated using radiologic imaging modalities to detect pleural fluid, and PT was measured using thoracic USG.

Characteristics of primary glomerular diseases patients with hematuria in Turkey: the data from TSN-GOLD Working Group.

Purpose: Hematuria is one of the most common laboratory findings in nephrology practice. To date, there is no enough data regarding the clinical and histopathologic characteristics of primary glomerular disease (PGD) patients with hematuria in our country.

Background: In our study, diagnostic and demographic characteristics of patients diagnosed with RPGN by biopsy, clinical and laboratory findings in our country were investigated.

Methods: Data were obtained from the Turkish Society of Nephrology Glomerular Diseases (TSN-GOLD) Working Group database. Demographic characteristics, indications for biopsy, diagnosis of the glomerular diseases, comorbidities, laboratory and biopsy findings of all patients were recorded.

The impact of sarcopenia on pathologic complete response following neoadjuvant chemoradiation in rectal cancer.

Purpose: The role of sarcopenia in pathologic complete response (pCR) following neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (nCRT) in non-metastatic locally advanced rectal cancer is currently unknown. The present study investigates the association between sarcopenia and post-nCRT pCR.

Methods: The data of patients operated on following nCRT between January 2013 and January 2020 were collected retrospectively.

The effects of menopausal uterine fibroids on the prognosis of endometrium cancer.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate any potential associations between uterine leiomyomas and endometrial cancer.

Objective: We identified factors influencing outcomes in patients with medically inoperable early stage lung cancer (MIESLC) treated with stereotactic ablative radiation therapy (SABR) at 14 centers in Turkey.

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 431 patients with stage I-II MIESLC treated with SABR from 2009 through 2017. Age; sex; performance score; imaging technique; tumor histology and size; disease stage radiation dose, fraction and biologically effective dose with an α/β ratio of 10 (BED ); tumor location and treatment center were evaluated for associations with overall survival (OS), local control (LC) and toxicity.

Age-related decrease in supratrochanteric torsion and increase in infratrochanteric torsion in healthy pediatric femurs: an MRI study.

The aim of the study was to evaluate the correlation between femoral anteversion, supratrochanteric torsion (STT), and infratrochanteric torsion (ITT) in healthy developing pediatric femurs using MRI. This study included 282 (164 males and 118 females) patients aged 1-18 years. The axial MRI of patients with benign tumoral lesions of the femur was retrospectively reviewed.

We aimed to determine the effects of ozone treatment on functional and biochemical changes in corpus cavernosum of diabetic rats. A total of 18 rats were included in the study. The rats were divided into the three groups as control, diabetes mellitus, and diabetes mellitus + ozone therapy groups.
