Background: Patients diagnosed with congenital kidney malformations are at an increased risk of developing hypertension, proteinuria, and progressing to chronic kidney disease (CKD). The present study aimed to determine the frequency of masked hypertension and ambulatory arterial stiffness index (AASI) in patients with congenital kidney malformations.
Methods: The study included 174 patients with congenital kidney malformations (48 patients with unilateral renal agenesis (URA), 40 patients with ectopic kidney (EK), 36 patients with horseshoe kidney (HK), 31 patients with multicystic dysplastic kidney (MCDK), 19 patients with unilateral renal hypoplasia (URH), and 45 healthy controls.
Anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor encephalitis is a rare autoimmune disorder that typically presents with neuropsychiatric symptoms and medial temporal lobe involvement. We report the case of a 24-year-old female with no significant medical history, who developed severe anxiety, memory deficits, and confusion over a two-week period. Neurological examination revealed cognitive dysfunction, asymmetric limb movements, and psychosis.

Although the most common cause of congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) worldwide is 21-hydroxylase deficiency (21-OHD), which accounts for more than 95% of cases, other rare causes of CAH such as 11-beta-hydroxylase deficiency (11β-OHD), 3-beta-hydroxy steroid dehydrogenase (3β-HSD) deficiency, 17-hydroxylase deficiency and lipoid CAH (LCAH) may also be encountered in clinical practice. 11β-OHD is the most common type of CAH after 21-OHD, and CYP11B1 deficiency in adrenal steroidogenesis causes the inability to produce cortisol and aldosterone and the excessive production of adrenal androgens. Although the clinical and laboratory features are similar to 21-OHD, findings of mineralocorticoid deficiency are not observed.

Objective: To compare sperm retrieval rates (SRR), postoperative pain, testicular volume, and postoperative testosterone levels between equatorial incisional microdissection testicular sperm extraction (micro-TESE) and longitidunal incisional micro-TESE in nonobstructive azoospermic (NOA) patients.
Methods: Fifty NOA patients undergoing equatorial incisional micro-TESE were retrospectively assigned to group 1, while 50 patients undergoing longitidunal incisional micro-TESE were prospectively assigned to group 2. Demographic data, operative time, postoperative pain assessed via the visual analog scale, complications, SRR, and hormonal evaluations (FSH, LH, total testosterone) were recorded.

Objective: Overexpression of Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2) is thought to be more aggressive in gastric cancer. This study aimed to evaluate the predictability of HER2 status and other prognostic pathologic parameters using [F]FDG PET/CT and to investigate its impact on survival.
Methods: Pretreatment metabolic parameters measured by [F]FDG PET/CT as a prognostic factor were retrospectively evaluated in 117 HER2-analysed patients.

Objective: Acute graft versus host disease (GVHD) occurs in 20-80 % of patients undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). Of these patients, 40 % will be resistant to steroids, which is the standard first-line approach. There is no standard second line treatment approach for patients with steroid refractory acute GVHD (SR-aGVHD).

Objective: Vitamin D deficiency is common in adult patients undergoing allogenic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). Since vitamin D is an important regulatory factor for the immune system, vitamin D deficiency may have effects on antitumor activity, relapse rates, graft versus host disease (GVHD) occurrence and infection rates in allo-HSCT. We aimed to investigate the effects of vitamin D levels on the outcome of allo-HSCT.

Objectives: Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) is a potentially curative treatment for hematological diseases, with success rates improving due to advancements in conditioning regimens and new anti-graft versus host disease (GVHD) drugs. Ruxolitinib, an oral selective Janus kinase (JAK) 1 and 2 inhibitor has been used to mitigate the effects of various inflammatory and myeloproliferative syndromes, given the JAK kinase pathway's central role in cytokine signaling during inflammatory and immune processes. In this study we aimed to assess ruxolitinib's efficacy in patients with chronic GVHD (cGVHD).

Background: Sarcoidosis is a chronic disease of unknown etiology characterised by systemic non-caseating granulomas that can affect any organ in the body, especially the lungs and in which genetic and environmental factors are thought to play a role in its pathophysiology. Adipokines and myokines secreted from adipose and muscle tissue play a role in the pathogenesis or protection against many inflammatory and autoimmune diseases in which inflammation and immunity form the basis. In our study, we aimed to investigate the role of the irisin and adiponectin in sarcoidosis.
