Tracheal stenosis post intubation is one of the most common complication for which resection and anastomosis is done. Here we present a 21 year male patient who was intubated post organophosphorous poisoning. Diagnosed with tracheal stenosis post intubation and managed with tracheal resection and anastomosis with uneventful recovery.

Prediction of stature from long bones versus hand and foot measurements: A comparative study of the Kolhapur population.

Background Estimation of stature is usually done by measurement of the long bones. Although hand and foot dimensions are useful in predicting stature, they are population-specific. Methods We compared the accuracy of predicting stature by hand and foot dimensions, with long bone (tibia and ulna) lengths, and developed a stature predictive regression formula from the parameters used for the sample population in Kolhapur.

Neuropathic arthropathy (Charcot joints), which most frequently affects the weight-bearing joints of the body, is commonly associated with a variety of medical and neurological conditions, and is notoriously difficult to treat due to the nature of the underlying pathology. We present a case of idiopathic neuropathic arthropathy of the thumb CMC joint of an elderly female complicated by blunt trauma to the thumb. To our knowledge, this is the first reported case in the literature of this rare association.

Introduction: Giant cell tumor accounts for 5 to 9 percent of all primary bony tumors. Giant cell tumors are usually found in the long bones, most often the distal femur, proximal tibia, distal radius and rarely arising from the ribs. In this paper, we describe a case of giant cell tumor presented at an unusual location of the costovertebral junction as a dumbbell shaped tumor.

Use of Infant Feeding Tube for Staged Flexor Tendon Reconstruction.

A two-stage flexor tendon reconstruction using a silicone rod in the first stage and a free tendon graft through the pseudo sheath formed around the silicone in the second stage was described by Hunter and Salisbury for a neglected and failed flexor tendon reconstruction. We are describing a technique where we have used an infant feeding tube as a substitute for silicone rods, which substantially reduces the cost of procedure but delivers the same results.

Nitric oxide (NO) is a biological messenger produced by mammalian cells serving various functions including regulation of blood flow, platelet function, immunity, and neurotransmission. The paranasal sinuses and nasal mucosa are a major source of exhaled NO. The aim of the study is to compare the nasal NO (nNO) levels in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with those of common cold patients and controls and to correlate CT scores with nNO levels.

Superior mesenteric artery syndrome: an uncommon cause of abdominal pain mimicking gastric outlet obstruction.

However, these symptoms are uncommonly produced by superior mesenteric artery (SMA) syndrome. SMA syndrome is triggered when there is narrowing of the mesenteric angle and shortening of the aortomesenteric distance.

Granulomatous slack skin disease: a review, in comparison with mycosis fungoides.

Granulomatous slack skin (GSS) is a rare cutaneous disorder characterized by the evolution of circumscribed erythematous loose skin masses, especially in the body folds, and histologically by a loss of elastic fibers and granulomatous T-cell infiltrates. This disease is often associated with preceding or successive lymphoproliferative malignancies, especially Mycosis Fungoides (MF) and Hodgkin's Disease (HD). Whether Granulomatous Slack Skin Disease is a benign disorder, an unusual host reaction or a precursor of malignant lymphoma or an indolent Cutaneous T-cell Lymphoma (CTCL) in itself, is still a controversy.

Re-expansion pulmonary oedema in chronic pneumothorax.

A case of unilateral re-expansion pulmonary oedema in a chronic pneumothorax is presented. The patient had a longstanding left-sided pneumothorax. Intercostal drainage tube was inserted following which the patient developed severe hypotension and respiratory failure.
