Cardiovascular Autonomic Modulation in Chronic Coronary Syndrome Following Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.

Introduction The risk of sudden death in patients with chronic coronary syndrome (CCS) is increased by unbalanced cardiovascular autonomic function. Since myocardial ischemia appears to be the cause of this condition of autonomic dysregulation, treating this condition should improve and correct the autonomic functions. Improving myocardial perfusion by PCI might have beneficial effects on the recovery of autonomic balance in ischemia-triggered autonomic dysregulation.

Assessment of Needlestick and Sharps Injuries (NSSIs) Amongst Orthopaedic Surgeons in Clinical Practice: A Pan-India Cross-Sectional Study.

Introduction: Needlestick and sharps injuries (NSSIs) represent an existential occupational hazard risk to orthopaedic surgeons during their career due to the interaction with various devices, instruments and bone fragments. Consequently, NSSIs have the potential to transmit infections such as Hepatitis B (HBV), Hepatitis C (HCV) and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) leading to serious illness. The purpose of this cross-sectional study was to identify the clinical settings predisposing orthopaedic surgeons to NSSIs and assess their adherence to safety protocols in the Indian context.

Bilateral Subluxation of the Proximal Tibiofibular Joint: A Rare Case Report.

Introduction: Proximal tibiofibular joint (PTFJ) subluxations are rare and can occur following trauma or sporting events. Idiopathic PTFJ subluxations are more common in females and in patients with generalized ligament laxity. The proper history and clinical examination together with imaging can help in establishing the diagnosis in the majority of cases.

Prognostic utility of B-type natriuretic peptide and 6-min walk test in patients with acute decompensated heart failure.

Background: We aimed to assess the utility of B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) and 6-min walk test (6 MWT) together as predictors of re-hospitalization and mortality in acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) patients.

Methods: This prospective, observational, comparative study was conducted at a tertiary care center in India between October 2016 and March 2018. Patients (aged≥18 years) with ADHF and left ventricular systolic dysfunction were included in this study.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to study the relationship between the timing of pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) with corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA) in cases of nucleus drop during phacoemulsification.

Methods: This retrospective analysis included 83 patients, who underwent PPV for nucleus or nuclear fragment drop from July 2017 to November 2019. Timing of PPV (≤2 weeks and >2 weeks) after the primary cataract surgery was noted.

A rare primary sacral glomus tumor presenting as intradural-extramedullary tumor: A Case report and review of literature.

Background: Glomus tumors are very infrequent in the spine where they can grow intraosseously at any level. We were able to identify only eight such cases in the literature, with only one occurring in the sacrum. Here, a 48-year-old male with sacral S1/S2 radiculopathy was found to have a rare glomangioma/glomus tumor of the sacral region.

Linear growth and neurobehavioural outcome in preterm neonates (<34 weeks) at term corrected gestational age: a prospective observational study.

The present study explores the association between linear growth and neurobehavioral outcome in preterm (<34 weeks) when evaluated by NAPI score (Neurobehavioral Assessment of Preterm Infants) at term gestational age (GA). 80 preterm neonates were enrolled for this study and divided into two groups based on the increase in length/week at term corrected gestational age (CGA). Anthropometric parameters were calculated at various time points of study and scores were calculated.
