Nonprescription use of topical corticosteroids (TCS) is a significant concern. This can lead to cutaneous adverse effects, altered morphology of skin disorders and chronicity of cutaneous infections. To record and analyze the patterns of TCS use in patients with tinea corporis/cruris and analyze factors determining the development of cutaneous side effects.

The ongoing COVID-19 epidemic has brought to the fore many concerns related to use of immunosuppressive agents (ISAs) in dermatology. While it is unclear whether the patients on ISAs for skin conditions are more prone to develop COVID-19, and what impact the ISA may have on the clinical outcome if a patient does get infected, rationalizations based on the specific immune effects of each drug, and existing literature on incidence of various infections with each, are possible. In this review, we provide the readers with practically useful insights into these aspects, related to the conventional ISAs, and briefly mention the clinical outcome data available on related scenarios from other patient groups so far.

Background And Aims: This study aims to trans oesophageal echo cardiographically (TOE) measure inferior venacava diameter (IVCD) during inspiration and expiration in poor left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) patients undergoing cytoreductive oncosurgery, to ascertain if any correlation exists between, caval index (DeltaIVCD), and stroke volume variation (SVV), and to compare DeltaIVCD-guided versus SVV-guided fluid therapy.
Methods: In this prospective, parallel group, interventional study, seventy American Society of Anesthesiologists-III patients, aged 30-75 years, weighing 40-90 kg, with LVEF ≤40% undergoing cytoreductive surgery were included and randomised to group-D (DeltaIVCD-guided fluid therapy) and group-S (SVV-guided fluid therapy). Patients with oesophageal lesions were excluded.

Integrating perioperative medicine with anaesthesia is the need of the hour. Evolution of a new superspeciality called perioperative anaesthesia can improve surgical outcomes by quality perioperative care and guarantee imminent escalation of influence and power for anaesthesiologists. All original peer-reviewed manuscripts pertaining to surgery-specific perioperative surgical home models involving preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative initiatives spanning the past 5 years have been reviewed using PubMed and Google Scholar.

Background: Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is a non-scarring alopecia with a characteristic pattern in genetically predisposed men and women. Hormonal abnormalities namely hyperandrogenism, hair cycle defects, genetic predisposition, and follicular miniaturization have been implicated as the causative factors for AGA.
Aim: To analyze women with patterned hair loss and correlate their clinical findings with the histopathology and biochemical parameters.
Background And Aims: Capstesia is a software designed for smartphones (Android/iOS) to estimate the cardiac output and other haemodynamic variables from the waveform obtained from an invasive arterial cannula. The technology has been validated by studies in simulated environmental conditions. We compared the cardiac output (CO) and stroke volume variation (SVV) obtained by conventional cardiac output monitor Vigileo with CO and pulse pressure variation (PPV) extracted from Capstesia, under clinical conditions, intraoperatively.

Background: Dermatophytoses are one of the most common skin diseases that have been largely simple to treat. However, in recent years, these infections have become recalcitrant to treatment which can possibly be due to antifungal resistance.
Aim: To analyze the resistance pattern of patients with recalcitrant dermatophytoses.

Background: Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease associated with alteration in levels of various cytokines. However, there are very few studies in this regard.
Objectives: To assess the serum levels of cytokines secreted by Th1 (IL-2, TNF-α), Th2 (IL-6), and Th17 cells (IL-17, IL-22) in patients with localized vitiligo and generalized vitiligo and to correlate their levels with the extent, duration, and activity of disease.

Short bowel syndrome (SBS), one of the commonest types of intestinal failure, usually secondary to extensive bowel resection, traditionally has been associated with a high mortality rate and hence a big challenge for the treating surgeons. It requires comprehensive clinical care to minimise the morbidities and mortality associated with the condition. We report a retrospective review of a series of seven patients with SBS, who presented at our surgical emergency within a period of 1 year and their outcome so as to encourage others in managing such a challenge with more positive mindsets.

Pectus carinatum or pigeon chest is an uncommon chest wall deformity characterized by a protruding breast bone (sternum) and ribs caused by an overgrowth of the costal cartilages. It can cause a multitude of problems, including severe pain from an intercostal neuropathy, respiratory dysfunction, and psychologic issues from the cosmetic disfigurement.

Atrial septal defects of Ostium Secundum type with suitable anatomy and margins are commonly closed with septal occluder devices. With the increasing number of catheterization laboratories and increasing availability of different devices, the device closure procedure is very commonly performed in different institutes. Embolization of the septal occluder is one of the most dreaded complications of this procedure, which usually occurs in the early hours or days after the procedure.

The authors report a case of unilateral optic neuritis along with secondary retinal venous stasis in a patient diagnosed with abdominal tuberculosis. Patient presented with diminished visual acuity, colour perception and Marcus Gunn pupillary response, pointing towards optic nerve involvement. Associated findings of disc edema, dilated and tortuous veins, along with hemorrhages on disc and superotemporal quadrant made diagnosis of retinal venous stasis secondary to optic neuritis imperative.

Primary gastrointestinal lymphoma is a rare entity, commonly involving stomach, small bowel, and colorectum. The usual location for small bowel B cell lymphoma is distal ileum due to abundant lymphoid tissue. We are reporting the case of a 53-year-old lady presumptively diagnosed as Crohn's disease on clinical and radiological grounds but histopathologically proven to be an unusual variant of isolated primary non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Cutaneous warts are known to be recurrent and often resistant to therapy. Resistant warts may reflect a localized or systemic cell mediated immune (CMI) deficiency to HPV. Many modalities of treatment are in use; most of the provider-administered therapies are destructive and cause scarring, such as cryotherapy, chemical cauterisation, curettage, electrodessication and laser removal.
