Lipoprotein glomerulopathy (LPG) is a rare condition of renal lipidosis characterized by lipoprotein thrombi in glomeruli, an abnormal plasma lipoprotein profile, and a marked increase in serum apolipoprotein E (apo E) levels. It is a monogenic disorder with autosomal dominant inheritance and the average age of presentation is 32 years (4-69 years). It is rare in children.

Introduction: Despite its use to prevent acute rejection, lifelong immunosuppression can adversely impact long-term patient and graft outcomes. In theory, immunosuppression withdrawal is the ultimate goal of kidney transplantation, and is made possible by the induction of immunological tolerance. Background: There is no robust evidence-based data for ABO-incompatible kidney transplantation (ABOiKT) from emerging countries.

Methods: Data from 1759 living donor ABOiKT and 33 157 ABO-compatible kidney transplantations (ABOcKT) performed in India between March 5, 2011, and July 2, 2022, were included in this retrospective, multicenter (n = 25) study. Purpose Of Review: As the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic continues to surge, determining the safety and timing of proceeding with solid organ transplantation (SOT) in transplant candidates who have recovered from severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection and who are otherwise transplant eligible is an important concern. We reviewed the current status of protocols and the outcomes of SOT in SARS-CoV-2 recovered patients.

Recent Findings: We identified 44 published reports up through 7 September 2021, comprising 183 SOT [kidney = 115; lung = 27; liver = 36; heart = 3; simultaneous pancreas-kidney (SPK) = 1, small bowel = 1] transplants in SARS-CoV-2 recovered patients.

Organ transplant recipients being at a risk for more severe COVID-19 if they get SARS CoV-2 viral infection, COVID-19 vaccine has a significant role in these patients. The vaccine is a safer way to help build protection and would either prevent COVID-19 infection or at least diminish the severity of the disease.

Tolerance induction (TI) has been attempted with chimerism/clonal deletion. We report results of TI protocol (TIP) using stem cell therapy (SCT) included adipose derived mesenchymal stem cells (AD-MSC) and hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) in 10 living-donor related renal transplantation (LDRT) patients under non-myeloablative conditioning with Bortezomib, Methylprednisone, rabbit-anti-thymoglobulin and Rituximab, without using conventional immunosuppression. Transplantation was performed following acceptable lymphocyte cross-match, flow cross-match, single antigen assay and negative mixed lymphocyte reaction (MLR).

Renal myxomas are rare neoplasms and very few cases have been reported in literature. Here we report a renal myxoma in a 48-year-old lady with hypothyroidism who presented with abdominal pain. She was found to have a mass lesion of 67 x 61 x 74 mm with exophytic component in the right kidney on ultrasonography and computed tomography.

Statins as lipid lowering drugs, are safe and effective in reducing cardiovascular disease risk, but rarely produce myopathy like myalgia, myositis or rhabdomyolysis. We report the case of Rosuvastatin induced rhabdomyolytic acute renal failure and quadriparesis in a 67-year old male, a known case of type-2 diabetes mellitus and with a history of coronary angioplasty four months back. He was on antihypertensive, oral hypoglycemic and antiplatelet medications with Rosuvastatin 40mg/day.

Although end-stage renal disease (ESRD) related to AA amyloidosis nephropathy secondary to tuberculosis is most common in our country, there are limited data concerning patient and graft outcome after renal transplantation (RTx). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of RTx in ESRD patient with secondary amyloidosis due to tuberculosis from India. A 30-year-old female with past history of pulmonary tuberculosis 3 years back was admitted with complaint of gradually progressive pedal oedema and nausea for 3 months.

With increased survival, it appears that a growing number of these patients present with chronic renal failure.

Churg-Strauss syndrome (CSS) also called allergic granulomatosis and angiitis is a multisystem disorder. Churg-Strauss syndrome is defined as an eosinophil-rich, granulomatous inflammation involving the respiratory tract, along with necrotizing vasculitis affecting small- to medium-sized vessels, and is associated with asthma and eosinophilia. Renal involvement in CSS varies from 26 to 88 % but is usually of mild to moderate stage, and advanced renal failure is uncommon.
