Background: Antibiotic resistance is the main problem in infectious disease management. Multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria could be carried by admitted patients and become a source of spread in the hospital, causing infections in other patients or the patients themselves. However, the screening of MDR bacteria has not been a standard in developing countries.

Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease (KFD) is a benign, self-limiting histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis systemic disorder with unknown etiology. KFD has been known for half a century, but difficulties in distinguishing it remain. Its diagnostic significance is related to the increasing prevalence of KFD with autoimmune diseases in various timeframes.

Methods: The original APFQ was translated and validated to obtain an Indonesian, physician-administered version on 41 urogynecology patients and 41 age-matched women without pelvic floor dysfunction.

Background: Sleep disturbances are included in the six most commonly cited complaints in post-COVID-19 conditions. In order to find the optimal management approach and enhance Quality of Life (QoL), we intend to explore sleep disturbances that occur in post-COVID-19 conditions.

Methods: This was a cross-sectional study conducted with interviews and questionnaires using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) for assessing sleep quality, Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) for assessing insomnia, Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS) for assessing Excessive Daytime Sleepiness (EDS), STOP-BANG questionnaire for assessing Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), and Short Form 36 (SF-36) for assessing QoL.

Background: The psychological aspect is one of the important aspects of the affected disaster survivors. The change in the disaster management paradigm is one reason for the need to change interventions that previously only focused on handling posttraumatic distress syndrome into interventions to increase post-traumatic growth to prevent post-disaster psychological disorders. This review aims to synthesise recent research to develop further explanations regarding potential strategies to improve the post-traumatic growth of disaster survivors.

This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of DHGTC, focusing on its historical perspective, diagnosis, clinical characteristics, molecular profiles, management, and prognosis. DHGTC demonstrates an intermediate prognosis that falls between well-differentiated thyroid carcinoma and anaplastic thyroid carcinoma.

Understanding the implications of BoNT-A immunoresistance from the aesthetic patient's viewpoint allows HCPs to better support patients throughout their aesthetic treatment journey.

Celiac disease (CD) is an autoimmune disease of the small intestine triggered by the consumption of gluten-containing foods in individuals with a genetic predisposition. CD was a rare disease until 20 years ago, when the prevalence increased. Currently, there is no data on the prevalence of CD in high-risk adult populations in Indonesia, even though there is a trend of increasing gluten consumption.

This study describes the characteristics of patients with neuropathy complaints in chat-based telemedicine services in Indonesia and their influence on treatment decisions and referrals.

Antimicrobial resistance among common bacterial pathogens in Indonesia: a systematic review.

Background: The WHO Global Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance System (GLASS) aims to describe antimicrobial resistance (AMR) patterns and trends in common bacterial pathogens, but data remain limited in many low and middle-income countries including Indonesia.

Methods: We systematically searched Embase, PubMed and Global Health Database and three Indonesian databases for original peer-reviewed articles in English and Indonesian, published between January 1, 2000 and May 25, 2023, that reported antimicrobial susceptibility for the 12 GLASS target pathogens from human samples. Pooled AMR prevalence estimates were calculated for relevant pathogen-antimicrobial combinations accounting for the sampling weights of the studies (PROSPERO: CRD42019155379).

The International Classification of Function, Disability, and Health (ICF-WHO, 2001) recognizes several dimensions of disability, such as body structure and function (and impairment thereof), activity (and activity restrictions) and participation (and participation restriction) and their interactions with contextual factor (personal and environmental). In this study, we map and analyse the relationship between the components of ICF in leprosy patients from two rural areas in Indonesia: Lewoleba (East Nusa Tenggara) and Likupang (North Minahasa). This study was part of a community outreach program by the KATAMATAKU team from Universitas Indonesia.

Triamcinolone injection in the treatment of lid retraction for thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy: A systematic review.

Introduction And Objectives: Lid retraction is one of the most common symptoms of Thyroid-Associated Ophthalmopathy (TAO), which potentially precipitates various complications, such as dry eyes, exposure keratopathy, and cosmetic concerns. Local corticosteroid injections, such as triamcinolone, have been proposed as a choice of treatment for TAO. This approach may be a favorable alternative for patients intolerant to the systemic effects of high-dose methylprednisolone.

Cultivating a "Feminine" Surgical Culture: Lessons from Indonesia.

Background: Although the number of female physicians in the United States has been increasing, most practicing surgeons in the United States are men. By contrast, Indonesia has achieved notable gender parity among surgeons, with the number of women practicing as plastic surgeons projected to soon surpass that of men. Achieving greater female representation in plastic surgery is important for delivering high-quality care, especially in the face of physician shortages and high burnout rates.
