Background: Concomitant knee injuries, such as meniscal tears, are observed in up to 80% of cases and can have a detrimental impact on outcomes following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR). Over recent decades, there has been a growing recognition of the importance of preserving meniscal tissue. Consequently, the prevalence of meniscal-preserving procedures has been on the rise.

Six-year evaluation of device-associated nosocomial infections in intensive care units.

Introduction: Invasive device-associated nosocomial infections commonly occur in intensive care units (ICUs). These infections include intravascular catheter-related bloodstream infection (CRBSI), ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP), and catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI). This study aimed to evaluate the factors associated with invasive device-associated nosocomial infections based on the underlying diseases of the patients and antibiotic resistance profiles of the pathogens causing the infections detected in the ICU in our hospital over a five-year period.

A challenging case of an adamantinoma of fibula with soft tissue mass harboring distinct histopathology.

We present a case of adamantinoma that originated from the fibula and had a large soft tissue component measuring approximately 6 cm. Clinical, radiological, and pathological investigations initially suggested that the tumor might be a bone-invading synovial sarcoma. To the best of our knowledge, no other case of fibular adamantinoma with such a large soft tissue component has been reported in the literature.

Efficacy of cumulative cisplatin dose on survival in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer treated with definitive chemoradiotherapy: multicenter study by Turkish Oncology Group.

Objective: Due to infectious complications of transrectal prostate biopsy (TRBx), the transperineal prostate biopsy (TPBx) technique is gaining popularity and is the first-line method in many institutions. We share our experience of the first 100 patients with TPBx, performed using the coaxial needle technique under local anesthesia.

Patients And Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the records of the first 100 patients who had undergone TPBx between December 2022 and September 2023.

Differential cyclin-E1 expression in CIC-rearranged sarcoma.

CIC-rearranged sarcoma (CRS) is a group of high-grade undifferentiated small round cell sarcomas examined as a separate entity in the current WHO classification; since it shows more aggressive clinical behavior and distinct morphological and molecular features compared to Ewing sarcoma (ES). As CCNE1 expression is associated with tumor growth in CIC::DUX4 sarcomas, we aimed to demonstrate the value of cyclin E1 expression in CRS. Background The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical and radiological findings of metastatic tumors and primary brain tumors affecting the fornix. Methods  Between January 2015 and March 2023, we retrospectively evaluated 1087 patients of both sexes who underwent cranial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for a preliminary diagnosis of intracranial malignancy in the radiology department of our hospital. Two radiologists with six and 10 years of experience in MRI examination assessed the relationship between primary and metastatic tumors and the fornix.

Relationship between HER2-low status and efficacy of CDK4/6 inhibitors in advanced breast cancer: a real-world study.

Survival in systemic sclerosis associated pulmonary arterial hypertension in the current treatment era-results from a nationwide study.

Introduction: Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is a leading cause of mortality in systemic sclerosis (SSc). This nationwide study aims to describe real world treatment characteristics and assess survival rates of patients with SSc-PAH.

Methods: In this retrospective cohort study, patients with SSc-PAH were identified from Turkish Ministry of Health National Electronic Database (from January 2016 to September 2022), using ICD-10 codes.

Objective: To investigate attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) symptoms and impulsivity among individuals diagnosed with opioid use disorder (OUD) who also exhibit symptoms of problematic internet use (PIU).

Methods: The study involved the participation of 360 patients with OUD enrolled at an alcohol and drug addiction treatment center (ADATC) from October to December 2022. Various assessment tools were administered, including Young's Internet Addiction Scale (YIAS), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Barratt Impulsiveness Scale (BIS), and Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS).

Proprioception After Primary Repair of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament.

Background: Primary repair of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) has some potential advantages over the reconstruction technique, which include but are not limited to better knee sensation due to preservation of the natural ACL tissue in patients compared with tendon graft. Proprioception is impaired after ACL injuries and the sense of the joint position is lost.

Purpose/hypothesis: The purpose of this study was to compare arthroscopic ACL primary repair and ACL reconstruction techniques clinically and functionally and analyze the differences in proprioception.

Background: Increased early diagnosis and improved treatment options have decreased the mortality rate of breast cancer and increased the survival rate. Healthy lifestyle behaviors are very important in breast cancer survivors as they reduce mortality and morbidity rates, cancer recurrence frequency, and side effects of treatment and improve health. Serum interleukin-33 and soluble suppression of tumorigenicity 2 in pediatric leukemia with febrile neutropenia.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the association between interleukin-33 (IL-33) and its receptor Soluble Suppression of Tumorigenicity-2 (sST2) levels and bacterial infections during febrile neutropenia (FN) in pediatric patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). In this prospective, case-control study, participants were divided into 3 groups: ALL patients with FN (Group A), ALL patients without neutropenia and fever (Group B), and healthy children without infection and chronic disease (Group C). There were 30 cases in each group.

First case of medullary osteogenic sarcoma of the pelvis: 12-year follow-up of reconstruction with hemipelvis allograft after resection.

A 45-year-old male patient with low-grade central osteosarcoma (LGCO) in the periacetabular region underwent wide resection, fresh frozen hemipelvis allograft reconstruction, and total hip prosthesis. To the best of our knowledge, this case is the first example of low-grade osteogenic sarcoma in flat bones. Aseptic loosening of the acetabular cup was observed 44 months after the operation, and it was revised with a constrained acetabular cup.

Effect of Complex Decongestive Therapy on Quality of Life and Physical Parameters in Head and Neck Lymphedema.

Objective: To assess the effect of complex decongestive therapy treatment (CDT) on quality of life, neck disability, cervical range of motion, and facial and neck lymphedema size using specific anatomical landmark points.

Methods: This prospective study was conducted in a tertiary cancer center in Turkey. Thirty patients included in the study were treated with CDT for 21 days.
