Background: Gene polymorphisms of rearranged during transfection (RET) and its ligand neurturin (NRTN) are one of the focus of studies in the investigation of cancer pathogenesis, invasion, and metastasis. In this study, we aimed to examine the possible risk of breast cancer between RET G691S, L769L, S904S, and NRTN IVSI-663 polymorphisms and to evaluate serum NRTN, brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-2, MMP-9, and focal adhesion kinase (FAK) levels.
Methods: The study consists of 110 breast cancer patients and 110 controls.
Retroperitoneal biloma and accompanying bilioscrotum are very rare entities. A 49-year-old male patient underwent endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography procedure with the preliminary diagnosis of stone-mud in the common bile duct. On the seventh day after the procedure, diffuse air densities observed around the duodenum and biliary stent protruding beyond the lumen in the non-contrast abdominal computed tomography examination were evaluated as duodenal perforation.

Objective: In this study, we aimed to obtain real-life data on the use of antimyeloma agents, which significantly increase overall survival (OS) in multiple myeloma (MM) patients, in primary plasma cell leukemia (pPCL) patients with poor prognosis.
Materials And Methods: Data from 53 patients who were diagnosed with pPCL between 2011 and 2020 and who used at least one proteasome inhibitor (PI) and/or immunomodulatory (IMID) agent were analyzed retrospectively. Depending on the year of the pPCL diagnosis, 20% leukocytes or ≥2x10/L plasma cells in the peripheral blood was used as a diagnostic criterion.

To assess the impact of topical papaverine administration in complete and incomplete colonic anastomosis, by examining bursting pressure, hydroxyproline concentration, collagen content, inflammation levels, inflammatory cell infiltration, neoangiogenesis, and necrosis grades. We performed an experimental study on rats, in which they were divided into the following 4 groups of 16 subjects each. Group 1 [complete anastomosis (CA) without papaverine (CA -P) group], Group 2 [CA with papaverine (CA +P) group], Group 3 [incomplete anastomosis (ICA) without papaverine (ICA -P) group], and Group 4 [ICA with papaverine (ICA +P) group].

Objective: The aim of this retrospective study was to analyze the predictive capabilities of preoperative mammography, dynamic contrast-enhanced-magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI), and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) in determining hormone receptor (HRc) status for pure ductal carcinoma (DCIS) lesions.
Materials And Methods: The study included a total of 79 patients who underwent preoperative mammography (MG) and MRI between December 2018 and December 2023 and were subsequently diagnosed with pure DCIS after surgery. The correlation between MG, DCE-MRI, and DWI features and estrogen receptor (ER) and progesterone receptor (PR) status was examined.

Purpose: To investigate the effectiveness of diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) as a supplementary tool to the Kaiser score (KS) in diagnosing breast cancer in non-mass enhancement (NME) lesions using breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Methods: This single-center, retrospective study analyzed 360 cases with NME on MRI images. Two breast radiologists independently evaluated each lesion using the Kaiser score (KS) and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values, without knowledge of the pathological outcomes.

Background: The objective of this study is to determine the role of tumor marker density (TMD) values such as alpha-fetoprotein tumor volume ratio (ATVR), beta-human chorionic gonadotropin tumor volume ratio (βTVR), alpha-fetoprotein testicle size ratio (ATSR), beta-human chorionic gonadotropin testicle size ratio (βTSR), lactate dehydrogenase tumor volume ratio (LTVR), and lactate dehydrogenase testicle size ratio (LTSR) in the determination of progression-free survival (PFS) in patients with testicular cancer.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective study was conducted of 95 patients followed-up in our clinic with a diagnosis of testicular cancer between January 2015 and August 2022. Patients were grouped according to clinical stage, as either early stage ( = 50) or advanced stage ( = 45).

Radical prostatectomy (RP) alone has traditionally been considered insufficient for patients with high-risk localized prostate cancer (HRPC) owing to the frequent need for adjuvant salvage radiotherapy or androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) following surgery. Previously, systemic therapy, such as ADT, was the standard treatment for metastatic prostate cancer (PC) patients; RP was not considered viable for these patients. However, since 2015, there has been a recognition that metastatic PC patients can be categorized based on the extent of their metastases, leading to the consideration of RP for some metastatic cases.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to research the value of the texture analysis of primary tumors in pre-treatment [68Ga]Ga-PSMA PET in the prediction of the development of biochemical recurrence (BCR) in prostate cancer patients who underwent definitive therapies.
Methods: 51 patients with prostate adenocarcinoma who had a pre-treatment [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT and underwent definitive radiotherapy (RT) or radical prostatectomy (RP) were included in the study. Demographics, clinicopathologic features, the presence of BCR, and the last follow-up date of patients were recorded.

Metaplastic breast cancer is a rare and heterogeneous breast cancer group that encompasses both malign epithelial and mesenchymal tissue components. Squamous cell breast cancer (SCC) is one of the types of metaplastic breast cancer, and diagnosis is established when more than 90% of the malignant cells are of squamous cell origin. Squamous cell metaplastic breast carcinoma is considered an aggressive tumor because of the risk of distant metastases, and there are limited data on treatment patterns.
