The term "inflammatory bowel disease," which includes Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC), refers to a chronic inflammatory condition of the digestive system. There are many different treatment options, such as corticosteroids, biologics, 5-aminosalicylate, and immune-suppressants, but none of them can maintain the disease remission for a longer period, which is the ultimate goal of treatment. Furthermore, they have numerous serious side effects like nephrotoxicity, infertility, congestive heart failure, myopathy, etc.

Breast cancer is considered a significant health concern worldwide, with genetic predisposition playing a critical role in its etiology. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), particularly those within the 3' untranslated regions (3'UTRs) of target genes, are emerging as key factors in breast cancer susceptibility. Specifically, miRNAs have been recognized as possible novel approach for biomarkers discovery for both prognosis and diagnosis due to their direct association with cancer progression.

An integrated approach to nutrient recycling utilizing microalgae could provide feasible solutions for both environmental control and energy production. In this study, an axenic microalgae strain, Chlorella sorokiniana ASK25 was evaluated for its potential as a biofuel feedstock and textile wastewater (TWW) treatment. The microalgae isolate was grown on TWW supplemented with different proportions of standard BG-11 medium varying from 0 to 100% (v/v).

We report a study to improve the ternary oxide NiVO's electrochemical energy storage capabilities through correct surfactanization during hydrothermal synthesis. In this study, NiVOnanomaterials were synthesized in three different forms: one with a cationic surfactant (CTAB), one with an anionic surfactant (SLS), and one without any surfactant. FESEM study reveals that all the synthesized NiVOnanomaterials had a small stone-like morphology.

To better understand the structure and evolution of the genomes of four plant pathogenic species of Zymoseptoria, we analyzed the occurrence, relative abundance (RA), and density (RD) of simple sequence repeats (SSRs) in their whole genome and transcriptome sequences. In this study, SSRs are defined as repeats of more than 12 bases in length. The genome and transcriptome sequences of Zymoseptoria ardabiliae show the highest RA (201.

This study utilized AIML (artificial intelligence & machine learning) techniques to analyze 115 images of central perforation of tympanic membrane obtained from Telemyringoscopy through Borescope in order to establish a facilitation-model for the community ear diagnosis. The Modified VGG19 with batch normalization revealed the highest training accuracy of 85 as compared to other CNN techniques. The training accuracy started to saturate around mid-70% and the Test accuracy was around 50%.

Stem cells' self-renewal and multi-lineage differentiation are regulated by a complex network consisting of signaling factors, chromatin regulators, transcription factors, and non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs). Diverse role of ncRNAs in stem cell development and maintenance of bone homeostasis have been discovered recently. The ncRNAs, such as long non-coding RNAs, micro RNAs, circular RNAs, small interfering RNA, Piwi-interacting RNAs, etc.

Next-generation sequencing has allowed us to explore new methods, where comparative and population genomics can be used simultaneously. Keeping this in mind, we surveyed and analyzed the frequency and distribution of microsatellites in the Indian gharial (Gavialis gangeticus) and compared it with American alligator (Alligator mississippiensis) and saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) to enrich them with genomic resources. The Indian gharial has a low frequency, relative abundance (RA), and relative density (RD) of microsatellites as compared to other crocodilians.

Background: Growth retardation, malnutrition, and failure to thrive are some of the consequences associated with congenital heart diseases. Several metabolic factors such as hypoxia, anoxia, and several genetic factors are believed to alter the energetics of the heart. Timely diagnosis and patient management is one of the major challenges faced by the clinicians in understanding the disease and provide better treatment options.

Nuclear-export-protein (NEP) plays multiple-functions during influenza virus replication-cycle and shows unique pattern of conserved residues, which altogether make NEP a potential target for developing novel anti-influenza drugs. However, the mechanistic structural biology of NEP has not been fully characterized so far owing to its tendency to aggregate in solution. As structural information is important to guide rational drug-discovery process; therefore, procedural optimization efforts are going on to achieve properly folded NEP in sub-millimolar concentrations for solution-NMR investigations.

The battery-supercapacitor hybrid (BSH) device has potential applications in energy storage and can be a remedy for low-power batteries and low-energy supercapacitors. Although several studies have investigated electrode materials (particularly for a battery-type anode material) and design for BSHs, the energy density and power density are insufficient (far from the levels required for practical applications). Herein, a hierarchical vanadium(IV) oxide on reduced graphene oxide (rGO@VO) heterostructure as an anode and activated carbon on carbon cloth (AC@CC) as a cathode are proposed for fabricating an advanced BSH.

Spices have been known for their various health activities; however, they also possess the allergic potential for the respiratory system and the skin as they are fine particulate matter. Persons involved in spice agriculture and food industries are at greater risk since they are exposed to a considerable amount of combustible dust, which may be the cause of fire and explosion and adversely affect the health. These workers may experience allergy, long-term and short-term respiratory issues including occupational asthma, dermatitis, etc.
