Comparison between the molecular diagnostic test and chest X-ray combined with multi-slice spiral CT in the diagnosis of lobar pneumonia.

Lobar pneumonia is an inflammatory condition of the lung that mainly affects the lobes of the lungs and the alveoli, and it is usually caused by a bacterial infection. There are many ways to diagnosis this disease. But an early and accurate method for lobar pneumonia diagnosis has an important role in its treatment.

Combination of color Doppler ultrasound and CT for diagnosing breast cancer.

Objective: This research aimed to estimate the diagnostic value of the combination of color Doppler ultrasound (CDU) and computed tomography (CT) in breast cancer (BC).

Methods: Among the 90 BC patients treated in our hospital from May 2018 to December 2020, 43 were examined by CDU before surgery and they served as the control group (CG), while the other 47 were examined with CDU and CT and were considered as the research group (RG). Lesions were confirmed as BC by postoperative pathological examination.

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been identified as functional modulators in human tumors. The purpose of our study was to determine the expressing trend, clinical significance and functions of lncRNA LINC02381(LINC02381) in osteosarcoma. We observed that the expression of LINC02381 and cell division cycle-associated protein 4 (CDCA4) were distinctly increased in osteosarcoma specimens and cells, while miR-503-5p expression was decreased.

Brain features of nearly drug-naïve female monozygotic twins with first-episode schizophrenia and the classification accuracy of brain feature patterns: A pilot study.

Background: Data on differences in brain features between monozygotic (MZ) twins with and without schizophrenia are scarce.

Methods: We compared brain features of female MZ twins with and without first-episode schizophrenia and healthy controls (n = 20 each). Voxel-based morphometry and tract-based spatial statistics were used to analyze differences in brain structure.

The novel long non-coding RNA NR2F2-AS1 has been characterized as an oncogene in lung cancer. The present study aimed to investigate the role of NR2F2-AS1 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). The results demonstrated that expression of NR2F2-AS1 and phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) were negatively associated with each other in NPC tissues.

Background: Osteoarthritis is a chronic degenerative disease with an incidence of 50% in people over 65 years old and 80% in people over 80 years old worldwide. It is the second leading reason of loss of working capacity after cardiovascular diseases and severely affects the society and families. Therefore, finding biological markers related to the diagnosis and treatment of osteoarthritis is of great significance in clinical practice.
