Outcomes of delayed versus early endoscopic intervention for acute biliary pancreatitis with non-severe acute cholangitis.

Background: Despite previous studies on endoscopic interventions in patients with acute biliary pancreatitis (ABP), the optimal time to perform endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) for ABP with non-severe acute cholangitis (AC) remains controversial.

Methods: We performed a retrospective cohort analysis of patients with concurrent ABP and non-severe AC. The patients were divided into two groups: those who underwent ERCP ≤ 72 h after admission (early ERCP group) and those who underwent ERCP > 72 h after admission (delayed ERCP group).

Development and Validation of an Ultrasound-Based Radiomics Nomogram for Identifying HER2 Status in Patients with Breast Carcinoma.

(1) Objective: To evaluate the performance of ultrasound-based radiomics in the preoperative prediction of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-positive (HER2+) and HER2- breast carcinoma. (2) Methods: Ultrasound images from 309 patients (86 HER2+ cases and 223 HER2- cases) were retrospectively analyzed, of which 216 patients belonged to the training set and 93 patients assigned to the time-independent validation set. The region of interest of the tumors was delineated, and the radiomics features were extracted.

The risk factors for deep venous thrombosis in critically ill older adult patients: a subgroup analysis of a prospective, multicenter, observational study.

Background: Older adult patients mainly suffer from multiple comorbidities and are at a higher risk of deep venous thrombosis (DVT) during their stay in the intensive care unit (ICU) than younger adult patients. This study aimed to analyze the risk factors for DVT in critically ill older adult patients.

Methods: This was a subgroup analysis of a prospective, multicenter, observational study of patients who were admitted to the ICU of 54 hospitals in Zhejiang Province from September 2019 to January 2020 (ChiCTR1900024956).

Development and validation of an ultrasound-based radiomics nomogram for predicting the luminal from non-luminal type in patients with breast carcinoma.

Introduction: The molecular subtype plays a significant role in breast carcinoma (BC), which is the main indicator to guide treatment and is closely associated with prognosis. The aim of this study was to investigate the feasibility and efficacy of an ultrasound-based radiomics nomogram in preoperatively discriminating the luminal from non-luminal type in patients with BC.

Methods: A total of 264 BC patients who underwent routine ultrasound examination were enrolled in this study, of which 184 patients belonged to the training set and 80 patients to the test set.

Adaptive immune cells prevent solid tumor progression by targeting and killing tumor cells. However, there are no comprehensive studies on peripheral circulating adaptive immune cell characterization in colorectal cancer (CRC) patients or the effect of tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) stages on these cells. In this study, the number, phenotype, and function of different subsets of circulating adaptive immune cells in peripheral blood of CRC patients were analyzed.

Objective: The aim of this study was to develop and validate an ultrasound-based radiomics nomogram model by integrating the clinical risk factors and radiomics score (Rad-Score) to predict the Ki-67 status in patients with breast carcinoma.

Methods: Ultrasound images of 284 patients (196 high Ki-67 expression and 88 low Ki-67 expression) were retrospectively analyzed, of which 198 patients belonged to the training set and 86 patients to the test set. The region of interest of tumor was delineated, and the radiomics features were extracted.

Objective: To investigate the risk factors for the infusion rate of chemotherapeutic agents within 2 hours after preparation and to observe the application effect of the quality control circle.

Methods: The infusion rates of chemotherapeutic agents within 2 hours after the preparation in different wards of our hospital in February 2019 were counted and relevant factors were collected. Binary logistic regression analysis was utilized to screen the risk factors for the infusion rate of chemotherapeutic agents within 2 hours after the preparation.

Diagnostic performance of elastosonography in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant salivary gland tumors: A meta-analysis.

Purpose: The clinical practice of elastosonography for the detection of salivary gland tumors is still a controversial issue. The objective of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the effect of elastosonography for the diagnosis of salivary gland tumors and to compare the diagnostic value of elastosonography and conventional ultrasound in the diagnosis of salivary gland tumors.

Prediction of moderately severe and severe acute pancreatitis in pregnancy: Several issues.

We reviewed a study addressing the development and validation of a prediction model for moderately severe and severe acute pancreatitis in pregnancy. We identified some statistical deficiencies in this article. In addition, we believe that the role of cholesterol as a predictor should be described in more detail.

Expression and the Prognostic Value of Biglycan in Gastric Cancer.

Background: Biglycan (BGN) is a family member of small leucine-rich repeat proteoglycans. High expression of BGN might enhance the invasion and metastasis in some types of tumors. Here, the prognostic significance of BGN was evaluated in gastric cancer.
