Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of dexmedetomidine before and after ischaemia in diabetic rat kidney ischaemia reperfusion (IR) injury in the experimental diabetic rat model.

Methods: In a longitudinal study of 17 RR-MS patients, we investigated blood miRNA expression profiles at baseline and after 1 year of natalizumab therapy by microarray technique and quantitative PCR validation. We compared the baseline expression profiles of these patients to those of 18 age- and sex-matched healthy controls.

[Effects of smoking on venous cannulation pain: a randomized prospective trial].

The purpose of this study is to determine whether or not smoking has an effect on pain perception due to peripheral venous cannulation.

Methods: 220 patients scheduled to have elective surgery were enrolled in the study and were divided into two groups (Group S and C, n=110 for each) according to their smoking habits.

Late presentation of cystic adenomatoid malformation type 4 of lung in an asymptomatic child.

Congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation of lung is an uncommon embryonic developmental anomaly usually diagnosed perinatally. Rarely the presentation is delayed until childhood and adulthood. Herein we present a 10-years-old girl with a late presentation of congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation type 4 of lung who was diagnosed coincidentally.

Indocyanine green angiographic features of systemic non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and bilateral choroidal involvement.

A 35-year-old man with systemic non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and bilateral choroidal involvement is described. Indocyanine green angiography depicts choroidal involvement much better than fluorescein angiography and seems to be superior in diagnosing and monitoring patients with systemic non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and choroidal involvement.
