A qualitative study on the experiences of caregivers of children undergoing surgery for congenital heart diseases.

Objective: This study explores the experiences of caregivers of pediatric cardiac surgery patients, aiming to deepen understanding of their role and improve the caregiving process.

Methods: A qualitative, phenomenological approach was employed using individual, semi-structured interviews with a heterogeneous sample of caregivers (both mothers and fathers) of children who had undergone surgery for congenital heart disease. Interviews were conducted face-to-face from June 2023 to May 2024, following Creswell's interview techniques.

Predictors of frailty after cardiovascular surgery and the relationship between frailty and postoperative recovery: A cross-sectional study.

Aim: To investigate the factors affecting postoperative frailty and the relationship between frailty and postoperative recovery in patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery.

Design: The study was descriptive, cross-sectional, and predictive.

Methods: Data were collected by researchers in a university research and application hospital cardiovascular surgery inpatient clinic between March 2022 and March 2023.

Experiences of parents of children with corrosive esophageal ingestion: a qualitative study.

Purpose: To describe the experiences of parents of children treated for corrosive esophageal ingestion.

Methods: In-depth interviews were conducted with 17 parents (nine mothers and eight fathers) of children who had suffered a corrosive esophageal ingestion requiring hospitalization. Online interviews were also conducted with parents of children who were still undergoing treatment for corrosive esophageal ingestion.

Background: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a neurodegenerative disease that affects the central nervous system (CNS) and is caused by immune dysfunction. Investigating compassion fatigue and predictive factors in paediatric surgery nurses.

Background: Nurses provide care to meet the complex needs of patients in the increasing workload in the health system and are at risk of compassion fatigue. The concept of compassion fatigue has begun drawing attention in the last decade, as it negatively affects nurses' physical and mental health, job performance and satisfaction, and therefore patient care quality.

Does conception spontaneously or with ART affect postpartum parenting behaviors?

Pregnancy and parenting may be psychologically more complex after assisted conception than after spontaneous conception. On the other hand, the literature demonstrates that mothers who conceived with ART comply with transition to parenting easily although they experience more problems in pregnancy and postpartum. This study aimed to compare postpartum parenting behaviors of women who conceived spontaneously or with ART.

Randomized controlled trial of care bundles with chlorhexidine dressing and advanced dressings to prevent catheter-related bloodstream infections in pediatric hematology-oncology patients.

Purpose: To compare the effects of the care bundles including chlorhexidine dressing and advanced dressings on the catheter-related bloodstream infection (CRBSI) rates in pediatric hematology-oncology patients with central venous catheters (CVCs).

Method: Twenty-seven PHO patients were recruited to participate in a prospective, randomized study in Turkey. The researcher used care bundles with chlorhexidine dressing in the experimental group (n = 14), and care bundles with advanced dressings in the control group (n = 13).

Children's postoperative symptoms at home through nurse-led telephone counseling and its effects on parents' anxiety: A randomized controlled trial.

Purpose: The objective of this study was to evaluate children's postoperative symptoms at home after outpatient surgery through nurse-led telephone counseling and the effects of the nurse-led telephone counseling on parents' state-trait anxiety scores.

Design And Methods: In this prospective randomized controlled study, nurse-led telephone counseling was provided every day to parents in the intervention group until they came for the follow-up visit. Motivational Interviewing in a Patient With Schizophrenia to Achieve Treatment Collaboration: A Case Study.

Medication nonadherence decreases the success of clinical treatment and the efficient use of resources, thereby creating a barrier to effective health care. In this report, we describe the achievement of treatment collaboration through motivational interviews (MI) in a patient with treatment-resistant schizophrenia. In this case study, we conducted six MIs during which we asked open-ended and reflective questions, established empathy with the patient, and developed discrepancies, leading to ambivalent feelings being revealed.

Breast Cancer and Posttraumatic Growth.

The current methods for early diagnosis and increased treatment options have improved survival rates in breast cancer. Breast cancer diagnosis effects individuals in physical, psychological and social dimensions either positively or negatively. In the literature, usually the negative effects encountered in the period after the diagnosis of breast cancer are mostly described, with limited data on the positive effects.
