Purpose Of Review: Climate change has been implicated as the driver for the increasing number, intensity, duration, and consequences of catastrophic weather events. As a result of extreme weather events, climate change has also been implicated as an important mediator of adverse kidney health outcomes, not only increasing the risk for the development of acute and chronic kidney diseases, but also disrupting the delivery of critical kidney health services. In particular, the delivery of dialysis services during major emergencies remains an ongoing and increasing problem, with a recognized need for improved emergency preparedness and disaster management (EP-DM) strategies to mitigate the increased risk of morbidity and mortality associated with missed dialysis treatment.

Telehealth in emergency medicine residency training: A model curriculum.

Emergency physicians are well-positioned to take a leadership role in telehealth, particularly in emerging categories such as triage, direct acute unscheduled care, and virtual observation. However, the growth of telehealth has outpaced curricular development in emergency medicine (EM) residency programs. This manuscript presents a model longitudinal telehealth curriculum, developed by the consensus of education experts, including representatives from the telehealth interest groups from EM's two primary specialty societies: the American College of Emergency Physicians and the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine.

Background: Malaria-endemic countries are increasingly adopting data-driven risk stratification, often at district or higher regional levels, to guide their intervention strategies. The data typically comes from population-level surveys collected by rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs), which unfortunately perform poorly in low transmission settings. Here, a high-resolution survey of Plasmodium falciparum prevalence rate (PfPR) was conducted in two Tanzanian districts using rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs), microscopy, and quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) assays, enabling the comparison of fine-scale strata derived from these different diagnostic methods.

Introduction: Paediatric tuberculosis (TB) underdiagnosis is a critical concern. The INPUT stepped-wedge cluster-randomised trial assessed the impact of integrating child TB services into child healthcare on TB case detection among children under age 5 years.

Methods: We compared the standard of care, providing TB care in specific TB clinics (control phase), with the Catalysing Paediatric TB Innovations (CaP-TB) intervention, integrating TB services across all child health services (intervention phase).

This article examines the current usage of social media by TID clinicians, and its role in education, patient outreach, and networking.

Significant debate surrounds the origin of nonlinear optical responses from cavity-coupled molecular vibrations. Several groups, including our own, have previously assigned portions of the nonlinear response to polariton excited-state transitions. Here, we report a new method to approximate two-dimensional infrared spectra under vibrational strong coupling, which properly accounts for inhomogeneous broadening.

Aims: This post hoc analysis of pooled data from the HAVEN 1 (NCT02622321), 3 (NCT02847637), 4 (NCT03020160) and STASEY (NCT0319179) studies assessed the impact of emicizumab prophylaxis on pain-related QoL in PwHA.

Aims: This study aimed to evaluate image quality, myocardial perfusion, and diagnostic performance of a novel [F]F-labeled PET tracer, XTR004 PET, myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) compared with [N]Ammonia (NH) PET MPI.

Methods And Results: Forty-seven patients with suspected or known coronary artery disease (CAD) were prospectively enrolled to undergo one-day rest/ATP-stress XTR004 and NH electrocardiograph-gated PET imaging within 2 weeks. Among them, twenty-six patients underwent invasive coronary angiography (ICA), and nineteen were identified with flow-limited CAD (stenosis ≥ 70%).

Newborn Screening for Critical Congenital Heart Disease: A New Algorithm and Other Updated Recommendations: Clinical Report.

Critical congenital heart disease (CCHD) screening was added to the US Recommended Uniform Screening Panel in 2011 and adopted by all US states and territories by 2018. In addition to reviewing key developments in CCHD screening since the initial American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) endorsement in 2011, this clinical report provides 3 updated recommendations. First, a new AAP algorithm has been endorsed for use in CCHD screening.
