Anti-PD-1 immunotherapy has saved numerous lives of cancer patients; however, it only exerts efficacy in 10-15% of patients with colorectal cancer. Biliary complications after hepatectomy in living donors have yet to be eradicated. We hypothesized that a standardized upfront Glissonean approach and liver hanging maneuver (GH) would prevent mechanical and thermal injuries to the hilar plate of the remnant liver by determining the point of bile duct division and the final destination of hepatectomy preceding liver parenchymal transection (safety) and facilitate liver transection deep within the parenchyma and allow maximum length of hilar structures (rationality). Aims: The main objective of this study was to determine the sensitivity of abdominal ultrasonography (US) in patients with isoattenuating pancreatic carcinoma and to compare the frequency of secondary signs on abdominal US and endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) in these tumours.

Methods: Twenty-four patients with histologically or cytologically verified isoattenuating pancreatic carcinoma who underwent abdominal US, contrast-enhanced CT and EUS of the pancreas as part of the diagnostic workup were included in this retrospective study. The sensitivity of abdominal US in detecting the isoattenuating pancreatic carcinoma was investigated and the frequency of secondary signs of isoattenuating pancreatic carcinoma on abdominal US and EUS was compared.

The complex sphingolipids exhibit a diversity of ceramide acyl chain structures that influence their trafficking and intracellular distributions, but it remains unclear how the cell discerns among the different ceramides to affect such sorting. To address the mechanism, we synthesize a library of GM1 glycosphingolipids with naturally varied acyl chains and quantitatively assess their sorting among different endocytic pathways. We find that a stretch of at least 14 saturated carbons extending from C1 at the water-bilayer interface dictate lysosomal sorting by exclusion from endosome sorting tubules.

In this study, two Tau overexpressing cell lines (SH-SY5Y/Tau and HEK293/Tau), N2a/SweAPP cell line, and 3× Transgene (APPswe/PS1M146V/TauP301L) mouse primary nerve cell lines were used as AD models to study the activity and molecular mechanism of macelignan, a natural compound extracted from , against AD. Methods: We investigated postoperative mortality rates based on summary reports of numbers and outcomes of highly advanced HBPS submitted annually by the board-certified training institutions from 2012 to 2019. Emerging evidence has revealed the pivotal role of epigenetic modifications in shaping the tumor microenvironment (TME). However, crosstalk between different modification types and their clinical relevance in cancers remain largely unexplored. In this study, using ChIP/MeRIP-seq data of seven human gastric cell lines, we systematically characterized the crosstalk of four epigenetic modification types including H3K4me1, H3K4me3, H3K27ac, and N6-methyladenosine (m6A) and identified a recurrent subtype with high FTO expression and low HDAC1 expression across three independent gastric cancer (GC) cohorts, which we named the epigenetic-modification-dysregulated (EMD) subtype.
