Comparative Effects of Stimulant and Antipsychotic Medications on Eating Behaviors and Weight in Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

Background/objectives: Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is associated with an increased risk of obesity and disordered eating behaviors. This study compared weight status and eating behaviors among drug-naïve ADHD children, those on stimulant monotherapy, those on combined stimulant and antipsychotic treatment, and healthy controls.

Methods: This cross-sectional study included 547 children aged 6-12 years from four Turkish provinces: 361 with ADHD (152 drug-naïve, 156 on stimulants, and 53 on combined therapy), and 186 healthy controls.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the fear of COVID-19, health literacy, compliance levels with prevention measures of adult individuals and influential factors.

Optimizing pectin lyase production using the one-factor-at-a-time method and response surface methodology.

Pectinases are commonly industrially synthesized by molds. This study aimed to optimize pectin lyase synthesis by a bacterium, Pseudomonas fluorescens, using both the one-factor-at-a-time (OFAT) method and response surface methodology. First, on optimization of pectin lyase fermentation by the OFAT method, the effects of pectin, peptone, yeast extract, (NH)SO, pH, and salts were investigated.

Chronotype is the temporal behavior of an organism. Social jetlag, fear of missing out (FoMO), and phubbing have received increasing attention recently and are closely related to sleep quality. This study aimed to explore the relationship between chronotype and these factors and their effects on sleep quality among medical students.

Effect of dietary carbohydrate quality index on the severity of premenstrual symptoms.

The objective of the researchers of this study is to evaluate the effect of the Carbohydrate Quality Index (CQI) in the diet of university students living in dormitories on the severity of premenstrual symptoms. The researchers applied a survey to the students, including questions about their sociodemographic characteristics and eating habits, Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ), and Premenstrual Symptom Scale (PMSS). A total of 606 female students were included as participants in the study.

Objectives: Current guidelines suggest that patients with cystic fibrosis (CF), who are over the age of 10, should be annually evaluated with oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the OGTT results in patients above the age of 10, who were followed up in our center with the diagnosis of CF.

Methods: In the study, 46 patients with CF at the age of 10 and above, who underwent OGTT were included.

Background: We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of laparoscopic surgery (LS) compared to open surgery (OS) for congenital duodenal obstruction (CDO).

Methods: We conducted a literature review to find studies comparing LS and OS in neonates with CDO. A meta-analysis was conducted to systematically compile and compare factors, including surgical duration, time of feeding initiation, hospital length of stay (LOS), and postoperative complications.

Purpose: Napabucasin (NP) is a natural compound that can suppress cancer cell proliferation and cell cycle by inhibition of the signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) gene. We examined the effects of NP on the proliferation and invasion of neuroblastoma cells (SH-SY5Y).

Deep Learning Classification of Ischemic Stroke Territory on Diffusion-Weighted MRI: Added Value of Augmenting the Input with Image Transformations.

Our primary aim with this study was to build a patient-level classifier for stroke territory in DWI using AI to facilitate fast triage of stroke to a dedicated stroke center. A retrospective collection of DWI images of 271 and 122 consecutive acute ischemic stroke patients from two centers was carried out. Pretrained MobileNetV2 and EfficientNetB0 architectures were used to classify territorial subtypes as middle cerebral artery, posterior circulation, or watershed infarcts along with normal slices.
