Introduction: for localized T1N0 squamous cell carcinoma of the anus (SCCA) standard radiotherapy (RT) may result in overtreatment and alternative strategies are debated.
Methods: T1N0M0 SCCA treated between 2015 and 2020 by local excision (LE) or RT were analyzed from the French prospective FFCD ANABASE cohort. Treatment strategies, recurrence-free and colostomy-free survivals (RFS, CFS) and prognostic factors were reported.

Objective: Pelvic organ prolapse is a common condition among post-menopausal women, and surgery is often the standard treatment proposed. Native tissue vaginal surgery is burdened by a high rate of recurrence, and mesh vaginal surgery has become current practice. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety and the effectiveness of the vaginal kit Anterior/Apical single incision mesh Elevate™ for the correction of anterior and apical compartment prolapse.

Background: Postoperative upper gastrointestinal fistula (PUGIF) is a devastating complication, leading to high mortality (reaching up to 80%), increased length of hospital stay, reduced health-related quality of life and increased health costs. Nutritional support is a key component of therapy in such cases, which is related to the high prevalence of malnutrition. In the prophylactic setting, enteral nutrition (EN) is associated with a shorter hospital stay, a lower incidence of severe infectious complications, lower severity of complications and decreased cost compared to total parenteral nutrition (TPN) following major upper gastrointestinal (GI) surgery.

Background: Ampullary adenocarcinoma (AA) originates from either intestinal (INT) or pancreaticobiliary (PB) epithelium. Different prognostic factors of recurrence have been identified in previous studies.
Methods: In 91 AA patients of the AGEO retrospective multicentre cohort, we evaluated the centrally reviewed morphological classification, panel markers of Ang et al.

Descending Perineum Syndrome (DPS) is a coloproctologic disease and the best treatment for it is yet to be defined. DPS is frequently associated with pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and it is reasonable to postulate, that treatment of POP will also have an impact on DPS. We aimed to evaluate the subjective satisfaction and improvement of DPS for patients who have undergone a sacral colpoperineopexy associated with retrorectal mesh for concomitant POP.

Introduction: The present study aim to compare the anatomic landmarks of two pelvic floor repair systems, in order to identify the potential neurovascular lesions related to different mesh fixation techniques.
Methods: Abdominal and perineal dissections of 10 fresh cadavers after prolapse surgery using transobturator/transgluteal versus single incision techniques. Neuro-vascular structures of obturator region and perineum were isolated.

Aims: Laparoscopic sacral colpopexy (LSC) for pelvic prolapse is a complex procedure, characterized by an anterior mesh suspension to the sacral promontory and a posterior tension-free mesh fixation.
Methods: Totals of 150 age-BMI and parity matched consecutive POP patients were selected from our Diaconesses Hospital database among women who underwent a laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy (LSH) plus sacral colpopexy (LSC) from June 2005 to March 2010. We analyzed two group of LSC populations, according to different tension-free apical fixation of the posterior mesh: Promontory (P) group and Utero-Sacral (US) group.

Objective: High-resolution anoscopy (HRA) is a useful screening tool for anal intraepithelial neoplasia (AIN), although reputedly challenging for interpretation of suspected lesions.
Materials And Methods: All consecutive patients who underwent biopsies for at least 1 lesion suspicious for AIN during HRA from November 2010 to March 2012 were prospectively included. The characteristics (borders, staining with acetic acid and Lugol iodine solution, and patterns of epithelium and vascularization) of the lesions detected during HRA were compared with histology.

Objectives: To determine if the number of lymph nodes (LNs) removed is an independent predictor of biochemical recurrence (BCR) in patients without LN metastases undergoing radical prostatectomy (RP).
Material And Methods: Retrospective analysis of 7,310 patients treated at 7 centers with RP and pelvic LN dissection for clinically localized prostate cancer between 2000 and 2011. Patients with LN metastases (n = 398) and other reasons (stated later in the article) (n = 372) were excluded, which left 6,540 patients for the final analyses.

We report a case of a pregnancy and follow the delivery of a young woman who previously underwent a laparoscopic sacral colpopexy (LSC) for pelvic organ prolapse (POP). A 38-year-old woman with POP desires pregnancy who after unsuccessful medical treatment with pessary underwent a laparoscopic uterine ventrosuspension (LUV). However, this procedure also failed and there was an immediate relapse.

Introduction: For the last three decades total knee arthroplasty surgery has been facing the renewed choice of using a traditional fixed-bearing design or a mobile-bearing system. A growing number of surgeons have elected to increase their use of mobile-bearing prostheses. We wanted to assess the reliability, in our hospital of this alternative choice.

The aim of the study was to compare the anterior colporrhaphy and the Bologna operation for the treatment of anterior vaginal wall prolapse associated with genuine urinary incontinence (GSI). Sixty-two women undergoing surgery for GSI and concurrent grade 2-3 cystocele were the subjects of the study. Anterior colporraphy was performed on 31 women (group A) and the Bologna operation on another 31 (group B).
