Aim: This study aimed to develop a universally applicable core set of quality indicators for Hirschsprung's disease care through a consensus-driven process, to standardise and improve care quality across Europe.
Methods: A modified Delphi method was used to achieve consensus among healthcare professionals (HPs) and patient representatives (PRs) across Europe. Participants completed three rounds of anonymous surveys, rating quality indicators for Hirschsprung's disease care.
Background: Intrabdominal pressure (IAP) is an important parameter. Elevated IAP can reduce visceral perfusion, lead to intraabdominal hypertension, and result in life-threatening abdominal compartment syndrome. While ingestible capsular devices have been used for various abdominal diagnoses, their application in continuous IAP monitoring remains unproven.

Background: In recent years, many studies have illustrated that the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is a prognostic factor of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC), but their conclusions are controversial. The aim of this study was to assess the prognostic value of the NLR in patients with mCRPC treated with docetaxel-based chemotherapy.
Methods: Database searches were conducted in PubMed, EMBASE and the Cochrane Library to retrieve relevant published English-language literature up to 20 February 2023.

Prostate cancer is a heterogeneous disease with a slow progression and a highly variable clinical outcome. The tumor suppressor genes PTEN and TP53 are frequently mutated in prostate cancer and are predictive of early metastatic dissemination and unfavorable patient outcomes. The progression of solid tumors to metastasis is often associated with increased cell plasticity, but the complex events underlying TP53-loss-induced disease aggressiveness remain incompletely understood.

To comprehensively evaluate the structure and function of the bladder wall in children using multi-modal ultrasound (MMU). A total of 110 children without urinary symptoms admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January 2022 to June 2023 were included prospectively. MMU was performed and the vesical volume (VV), bladder wall thickness (BWT), shear wave velocity (SWV) of the anterior wall, resistance index (RI) and vascularization index (VI) were measured in the filled and emptied bladder respectively, and the ultrasound bladder compliance (UBC) was also calculated.

To compare the diagnostic value of fluorine 18-labelled prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) PET/CT PRIMARY score and PSMA expression score for clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa). The data of 70 patients with prostate cancer who underwent radical prostatectomy at Beijing Hospital from February 1, 2019 to February 29, 2024 were retrospectively analyzed. All patients underwent whole body F-PSMA PET/CT examination before surgery and pathological large sections of prostate specimens were made after surgery.

Background: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic rapidly developed around the world. Plenty of health information about the virus was available from multiple media platforms, but such information was not always accurate. Identifying misinformation depends on an individual's health literacy.

Background: Interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) is a multifactorial, chronic syndrome involving urinary frequency, urgency, and bladder discomfort. These IC/BPS symptoms can significantly impact individuals' quality of life, affecting their mental, physical, sexual, and financial well-being. Individuals sometimes rely on peer-to-peer support to understand the disease and find methods of alleviating symptoms.

Chronic wound healing is often hindered by long-term inflammation and redox imbalance. Herbal medicine, with its rich medicinal components such as polysaccharides, flavonoids, phenolic acids, and small-molecule nutrients, has gained attention for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Xanthium strumarium (XS) is a potent anti-inflammatory herb that has shown promise in treating conditions like rhinitis and may have specific benefits for chronic skin wounds.

Objectives: Antibacterial-resistant gram-negative hospital-acquired infections result in significant morbidity and mortality. In clinical trials, ceftolozane/tazobactam (C/T) has been effective against these infections; however, real-world findings are limited.
Methods: SPECTRA was a global, retrospective, observational inpatient study of adults treated with C/T for ≥48 hours, conducted between 2016 and 2020.

G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) are a large family of cell surface receptors that play a crucial role in signal transduction and cellular communication. GPCR proteins are involved in a wide range of physiological processes, including cell growth, migration, and survival. Dysregulation of GPCR protein expression has been implicated in the pathogenesis of various diseases, including cancer, and GPCR proteins have been shown to modulate these processes in various types of cancer, highlighting their importance as potential therapeutic targets.

This review examines the historical evolution of testicular cancer (TCa) treatment, emphasizing the transformative impact of World War II. Prior to the war, cases of more than 50 testicular tumors were exceedingly rare. The mobilization of American troops, especially after the German Blitz, resulted in widespread military health screenings, leading to a surge in incidental TCa diagnoses during the 1940s.

Ferroptosis is a novel type of programmed cell death characterized by radical-driven lipid peroxidation accumulation, which is involved in various diseases, including acute organ injury and neurodegenerative disorders. Pharmacological inhibition of ferroptosis is a promising strategy for treating these diseases. In this study, 16 benzo[b][1,4]oxazine derivatives were synthesized and assayed for their antiferroptotic activity.

Chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS) represents a prevalent condition within the male genitourinary system. CP/CPPS occurs in men of varying ages, with an increasing recurrence rate associated with advancing age. The pathogenesis of CP/CPPS remains unclear, and clinical treatment typically focuses on symptom management with limited efficacy, resulting in significant economic and psychological burdens for patients.

Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) generate blood and immune cells. Here, we present a protocol to differentiate human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) into hematopoietic progenitors that express the signature HSC transcription factors HLF, HOXA5, HOXA7, HOXA9, and HOXA10. hPSCs are dissociated, seeded, and then sequentially differentiated into posterior primitive streak, lateral mesoderm, artery endothelium, hemogenic endothelium, and hematopoietic progenitors through the sequential addition of defined, serum-free media.

Introduction: Prostate cancer (PCa) is the commonest urologic cancer worldwide and the leading cause of male cancer deaths in Nigeria. In Nigeria, orchidectomy remains the primary androgen deprivation therapy. Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is the active prostatic androgen, but its relationship with PCa severity has not been extensively studied in Africa.

Background: Stroke has emerged as an escalating public health challenge among middle-aged and older individuals in China, closely linked to glycolipid metabolic abnormalities. The Hemoglobin A1c/High-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (HbA1c/HDL-C) ratio, an integrated marker of glycolipid homeostasis, may serve as a novel predictor of stroke risk.
Methods: Our investigation utilized data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study cohort (2011-2018).
