Orthopaedic surgeons face notable occupational hazards, including suboptimal ergonomics in the operating room (OR). This results in high rates of musculoskeletal injuries that affect at least four in 10 orthopaedic surgeons. Sex disparities exacerbate these issues, with female surgeons reporting markedly higher rates of occupational injuries and discomfort with surgical instrument use compared with male surgeons.

Assessing the global dengue burden: Incidence, mortality, and disability trends over three decades.

Background: Dengue, the fastest-spreading vector-borne disease (VBD), significantly burdens global health systems. This study analyzed the trends in the global burden of dengue from 1990 to 2021, utilizing data from the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study 2021 (GBD 2021).

Methodology/principal Findings: We retrieved data from GBD 2021 regarding dengue, including the number of incidences and age-standardized incidence rate (ASIR), the number of deaths and age-standardized death rate (ASDR), disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs) and age-standardized DALYs.

National health care security and the dentist and dental hygienist compact: A call to action.

There appears to be some confusion, misunderstanding, and unfounded concern about state governments being asked to adopt the recent initiative from the United States (US) Department of Defense regarding a dental health provider's compact for US states and territories. Yet, there needs to be a realization of the significance and priority for joining the Dentist and Dental Hygienist Compact, since it directly incorporates into health care security as a strategy component. While there is a gross lack of research and information shared in this area, this editorial serves to offer such research, information, insight, and clarification to emergency management professionals on the value and necessity to openly support dental compact agreements for all US states and territories.

Vestibular deficits are common and debilitating, and many patients struggle with dynamic balance, even after treatment with standard rehabilitation techniques. The objective of this study was to measure changes in computerized dynamic posturography sensory ratio information after computerized vestibular retraining therapy (CVRT). This prospective, single-group, interventional study enrolled adult participants with stable, unilateral vestibular deficits.

Individualized Hyaluronidase-Facilitated Subcutaneous Immunoglobulin 10% Administration in Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyradiculoneuropathy: The Nurse's Role.

Hyaluronidase-facilitated subcutaneous immunoglobulin (fSCIG) 10% offers potential improvements in patient independence and tolerability versus intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) when used for the treatment of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP). fSCIG 10% also requires less frequent infusions and fewer infusion sites than conventional subcutaneous immunoglobulin (subcutaneous immunoglobulin without hyaluronidase). The ADVANCE-CIDP 1 study demonstrated fSCIG 10% efficacy and safety in preventing CIDP relapse and positive responses from patients in terms of satisfaction and treatment preference.

As a potential therapeutic strategy, mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) exhibit significant immunomodulatory and regenerative potential. Recent studies suggest that the primary mechanism of MSC action is their paracrine effects, particularly mediated by extracellular vesicles, with MSC-derived exosomes (MSC-Exos) being the key mediators.

3D-printed prosthesis for traumatic trapezium bone defect: a case report.
